Customer Reviews of Hoffritz Stainless Steel Swivel Peeler
Customer Rating: Summary: Works well Comment: I bought this peeler several years ago, but am looking at it now to buy a second. (Our current one is missing and having 2 good peelers is not a bad idea.) We also have an Oxo peeler that takes off far too much of a carrot. It might be better for something with a tougher skin, but usually we use a peeler for carrots and this one is much better. I've also had success using it on potatoes. I've been frustrated with enough bad peelers to come back and get a second one of these. Customer Rating: Summary: unimpressed peeler Comment: I was looking to replace a great Westmark peeler and this peeler is not it. Between the peeler cost and shipping I paid too much for a cheap peeler I could have picked up at the grocery Customer Rating: Summary: Buy OXO instead Comment: First off, I bought this worthless peeler so I could get free shipping on my total order. Mistake on my part. The blade swivels. But why??? I could peel neither a hard apple, nor a soft pear. I prefer the strong stability of the OXO peeler I currently use. Would not recommend this product. Customer Rating: Summary: Bad design. Comment: I use a large variety of fruits and vegetables. We eat as much unprocessed foods as we can stand. Among my friends and family I am considered a talented chef. If you are experienced in the kitchen at all you will be disappointed with this peeler. Most of the time when you use a peeler your thumb is used to help control the pressure and the action of peeling. The overall length of the peeler is too long to use your thumb. Most importantly, it does not cut easily. Go ahead and try it for yourself. Remember, I told you so. Customer Rating: Summary: Stainless Steel Swivel Peeler Comment: This peeler has exceeded my expectations and much better than the standard cheap peelers on the market. But you will have to pay a few more dollares for the improved performance. More Reviews I think we all can agree that peeling apples or potatoes is not a coveted kitchen job. Usually this is due to small, rickety peelers that have a tendency to skip across the surface (and maybe your thumb). You spend too much time repeeling and trying to find the Band-Aids. But with this swivel peeler from Lifetime Hoan, you get all the potato skin off the first time--and keep your own intact. The pointed end scoops out potato eyes and removes bruised areas easily. Get the grunt work done in less time and move on to the pie making or potato mashing. --Dana Van Nest Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice. Choosing Appliance -> Hoffritz Stainless Steel Swivel Peeler Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Stainless Steel Maintenance Wipe away any acid spills such as from vinegar or grapefruit straight away. Never clean the bowl or draining board with an abrasive cleaner. Instead use liquid detergent in warm water and wipe with a soft cloth to remove water drop marks. Care for stainless steel appliance fascias and cabinet fronts in the same way. If choosing stainless steel cabinets, a 'brushed' surface is less likely to show grease from finger marks. |
