Customer Reviews of KitchenAid Five-Ply Stainless-Steel Clad 12-Inch Round Grill Pan
Customer Rating: Summary: I Love KitchenAid But.... Comment: I love KitchenAid, but this grill pan was not for me. It would not sit evenly on my ceramic cook-top out of the box. The handle appears too heavy on the end. It would not be much of a problem on a gas range, but a real disappointment for me. This led to uneven cooking and some burning in the pan. And with the grooves, this pan is exceptionally tough to clean relative to the flat five-ply 12 inch skillet. Even if the grill pan sat evenly on my range, the cleaning of the pan was certainly a major drawback to using this pan. Customer Rating: Summary: Fantastic Pan! Comment: I was worried when I bought this pan, that it wouldn't live up to its hype. But it did! What a fantastic way to cook. Easy to use, easy to clean, easy to cook great steaks and chops! Great dogs and sausages, too. Customer Rating: Summary: perfect searing pan Comment: I wanted a pan I could heat to the smoking point and then keep it there for searing tenderloin. This pan works great. The low sides actually reduce splatter at this temperature since most grease is carried into the air in other pans by steam formed on the sides of the pan. The rounded grill ridges make cleaning easier. Put the pan to soak and use a little stainless polish if necessary. It's a keeper. Customer Rating: Summary: Nice grill Comment: I had an opportunity to cook with this grill pan over the Christmas holiday. It is well made, it handles well on the stove top, and it heats pretty evenly. Depending on what you are cooking, the stainless interior can be easy or a pain to clean. I gave it four stars because I think a grill pan might be better served with a non stick surface. For a saute pan, and for reducing sauces, I like a stainless surface. It is much easier to see what is going on there than with a non stick. For a grill though, non stick properties are more important. One reviewer wrote that he thought non stick was a scam, and that it goes away within a few months. Nonsense. That might have been the heads up on cheap supermarket pans 30 years ago, but a quality non stick pan today will last for years, and cook a perfect omlette, or grill a perfect fish fillet. Think about the job at hand, and choose the tools accordingly. A glance at the pans used in commercial kitchens, or those used by the wide variety of TV chefs is enough to let you know that there are some jobs that are tailor made for non stick cookware. Eggs, cheese, fish, and general grilling are among them. Customer Rating: Summary: YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR Comment: I WILL MAKE THIS SHORT AND SWEET, THE PAN LOOKS GREAT, COOKS GREAT, AND THE FINAL PRODUCT MOST IMPORTANTLY, TASTES GREAT! Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Look for models with adjustable baskets and flexible internal layouts for varying load requirements. For example, a tilting upper basket allows large 30cm diameter plates in the lower basket and extra flaps can be raised or lowered to cater for small items or large pans. Choosing Appliance -> Range Cookers The way you cook is also key to deciding which type of range cooker to choose. No-frills heat storage ranges such as Agas retain heat they have gradually built up and generally have two ovens without temperature controls - the hot oven is for roasting and baking, the cool one for slow cooking/keeping warm.
