Customer Reviews of Maverick SEC-2 Henrietta Hen Egg Cooker, White
Customer Rating: Summary: Hennietta Hen is the greates Comment: I have been known to burn hard boiled eggs........NEVER AGAIN....not with my Hennietta......she lets me know when my eggs are done. For soft boiled use the second hole.....if not they come out too soft. My daughter and I love her!!!!!!! Cooks seven eggs at one time. Customer Rating: Summary: Fun way to cook eggs. Comment: I love soft and hard boiled eggs and Henrietta is a fun way to cook them. Mine arrived without any instructions so it took me a bit of experimentation to figure out what actually worked. I discovered that soft boiled eggs actually required a water lever closer to poached in order to get the white cooked and still leave the yolk soft. I wish it had a switch to turn the "chirp" off as it sounds more like a smoke alarm, but if it does I haven't found it yet. I found the eggs cook better without punching the hole in them so I'm not sure why the piercing tools is included. Otherwise, once you get the hang of what works best for the way you like your eggs this is a great way to cook them and it's fun to leave sitting on the counter for guests to see and ask about. Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect eggs with a few adjustments Comment: I've been using Henrietta for 4 months and I love it. I use it twice a week for hard-boiled eggs. A few tips: make sure you let your eggs sit out to take the "chill" off before you cook them. A warm water rinse will work too. Fresh from the fridge eggs might not get done enough in the time that Henrietta allots. When the eggs are done, unplug them and let them sit in the cooker for a few minutes. Yes, I've had leakage onto my counter so I set a sponge next to the cooker. I've never shelled an egg with ANY green on the yolk, and the eggs seem to peel so nice. I would definitely recommend this egg cooker. Customer Rating: Summary: Terrible... Comment: I've tried to hard boil eggs with this cooker at least seven times, and they've always ended up terribly undercooked. And water always seeps out of the edges, even if I put less water in. I never write reviews anymore, but this product was so terrible that I felt the need to express it... Customer Rating: Summary: bad eggs Comment: please DO NOT try to poach eggs with Henrietta...they do not cook all the way (runny whites) and when i attempted to give it another run thru the eggs were WAY overcooked...it is great for hard boiling eggs, but other than that it is useless...would much rather poach them the old fashioned way! More Reviews This unique egg cooker is designed in the shape of a stylized chicken that makes an excellent gift for the gourmet cook. It hard boils up to seven eggs and poaches up to four eggs. Whether you're making eggs Benedict for brunch or egg-salad sandwiches for school lunches, or if you just have a big, hungry family eager for breakfast, this cute device boils or poaches eggs to order and "chirps" when the eggs are cooked. Beneath Henrietta the hen's ample form there's a poaching tray that holds four eggs and a cooking rack that holds seven. Tray, rack, and Henrietta nest on a power base. Pour water into the base to one of three levels for soft-, medium-, or hard-boiled eggs; puncture their big ends with the piercing pin in a separate cooking-rack cavity to prevent shells from cracking; plug in the power base; and steam cooks the eggs. The tray, which requires water at level two, rests on the cooking rack if poached eggs are desired. Afterward, all the hard plastic parts except the power base can go in the dishwasher. UL Listed Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice. Choosing Appliance -> Maverick SEC-2 Henrietta Hen Egg Cooker, White Useful info -> Taps Three-way or tri-flow taps with built-in purification system provide a stylish, convenient and cost-effective alternative to bottled water or a jug filter and complete the fully integrated kitchen. As with all taps, models are available in contemporary, classic or traditional designs and in a range of finishes. |
