Customer Reviews of Norpro 5-1/2-Inch Garlic Baker

Summary: Simplicity At It's Best!
Comment: The Garlic Baker is simply one of my favorite kitchen "things" ever! Nothing beats the flavor of fresh baked/roasted garlic spread directly onto bread or into buttered mashed potatoes, and just about everyone agrees that garlic is very good for you (but perhaps not for your breath :-)

Following the included instructions will have you producing yummy, perfectly prepared, butter-soft garlic on your first try. With a little experimentation, you will likely find ways of making your own special variation (my daughter uses olive oil flavored with jalopenos).

This roaster is is very easy to use, and the glazed bottom makes clean up a breeze (there are other brands that are not glazed).

Highly recommended!

Summary: A Most Wonderful Roaster
Comment: This garlic roaster is by far the most superior product I have ever used, and I have used hundreds of them. I whole heartedly endorse this wonderful tool and would recommend purchasing not only one but several to give away to all of the people on your block as well as every one of your relatives. They will thank you for years to come and invite you over for a garlic cookout if you play your cards right.

Summary: Great Garlic
Comment: I purchased this for my son in law as a Christmas gift.

He followed the instructions, soaked the top for 10 minutes in cold water...sliced off the tops of the heads before seasoning and made sure that they sat evenly on the bottom of the roasting dish.

To our delight, the result was three garlic heads roasted to perfection.

Great little item for fans of garlic.

Summary: Attractive and functional!
Comment: This garlic baker looks and works great. It is generously sized and can hold several heads of garlic for baking. I love the terra cotta finish.

Choosing Appliance ->
Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens
Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans.
