Customer Reviews of Taylor Classic Roast/Yeast Thermometer
Customer Rating: Summary: I'm Scared To Use It! Comment: The reason I'm scared to use this Taylor Classic Roast-Yeast Thermometer is: #6 on back of package instructions says, "The black fluid in the thermometer is nontoxic. However, it does have a sharp taste and definite odor. If the thermometer breaks on insertion or is discovered broken, the meat can be cut out around the thermometer to remove the discolored section." (There's more) Made in China. I would never have bought it if I knew this about it. Customer Rating: Summary: love it! Comment: I bought this for my Grandmother to replace a very old one that she had. She loved it so much that I bought myself one also. I bought it about 5-6 years ago and it is still as great as the first day. Customer Rating: Summary: replacement Comment: I replaced one I had that was over 35 years old. Well made to last all that time. Customer Rating: Summary: I didn't like it. Comment: I don't understand why all the reviews for this thermometer are good. The numbers/indicators on the thermometer began to peel off after I put it in the dishwasher. I had to throw it away. Maybe I just got a bad one. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Meat Thermometer Comment: I bought a Taylor meat thermometer years ago when I first got married. Back then, the little stick part that goes into the meat was made of glass. After 30 years of use, it finally broke. I looked around locally for a replacement, but couldn't find one. I found this new thermometer at Amazon and it's better than the old one (if that's possible). The little stick part that goes into the meat is now made of metal (stainless steel?) It's really strong. I'm sure I'll have this one for another 30 years. More Reviews 7" Stainless Steel Meat Thermometer, Non Toxic, Glass Tube Protected By Sabre Tip Stem, Needs No Skewer, Fahrenheit & Celsius Scales, Dishwasher Safe. Choosing Appliance -> Dishwasher Choose a dishwasher with sturdy compression springs in the door. Also look for tough, lightweight nylon or graphite racks with cushioned tips that protect glassware and cookware. Weimer recommends choosing a model with a rack design that provides the largest, most flexible interior space and is configured for your belongings, including odd-shaped pieces. Choosing Appliance -> Energy-Efficient Refrigerators The EnergyGuide label on new refrigerators will tell you how much electricity in kilowatt-hours (kWh) a particular model uses in one year. The smaller the number, the less energy the refrigerator uses and the less it will cost you to operate. In addition to the EnergyGuide label, don't forget to look for the Energy Star label. A new refrigerator with an Energy Star label will save you between $35 and $70 a year compared to the models designed 15 years ago. This adds up to between $525 and $1,050 during the average 15-year life of the unit. Taylor Classic Roast/Yeast Thermometer Kitchen tips -> Potatoes Potatoes will cook faster if they are soaked in salty water before they are baked |
