While this simple but elegant pattern can be used on special occassions and holidays, it is durable enough to be used on a daily basis. Customer Rating: Summary: Purchasing second set after 15 years Comment: My first set of Mikasa's French Countryside dinnerware is now fifteen years old. They have taken a daily beating from adults and children, dishwashers, ovens, and microwaves, and they are still the sturdiest I've ever owned. I'm replacing my original set because over the years, I've lost several pieces to neighbors, friends, hard tile floors and other accidents. Many of the plates and bowls are showing signs of wear (grey crackling). Fifteen years of hard service takes a toll on any dish, but I am thrilled with the years I've gotten out of them. It's not easy to find reasonably priced dinnerware that is as heavy and sturdy as these, yet still looks beautiful and elegant with everything. At $25 for a 5-piece place setting, you cannot go wrong. More Reviews Gently scalloped edges and curves on these generous sized pieces add grace every time you set the table. Its rich cream color makes French Countryside a perfect base pattern to mix with colorful accent pieces. Classic Mikasa stoneware will last for years. This pattern is dishwasher, oven, freezer and microwave safe.

Choosing Appliance -> Knives The importance of high quality knives can't be stressed enough! Buy the best you can and expect to spend some serious money. It is better to buy a couple of excellent knives and slowly add to your collection rather than buying an entire set of low quality knives. Start with a chef knife and paring knife.
