Customer Reviews of Hoover F5300 Floormax
Customer Rating: Summary: Floor Max F5300 Comment: I just ordered the Floor Max from Amazon at the beginning of the week and now it's Friday. It came in record time (I love Amazon.com!) and I've already cleaned my kitchen and bathroom floors. I like the machine for the most part. I can clean my vinyl and tile floors in record time. It does a great job! My ONLY complaint is that the machine does not fit under the lip of my cupboards and therefore doen't clean right up to the baseboard. I have to do this by hand (approx. 2 1/2 inches). In cupboard-less areas it doesn't clean 3/4 inch of floor right next to the baseboard. I'd still buy this machine though. Customer Rating: Summary: Hoover F5300 Floormax Comment: Problems encounter: Had to guess work on what pads to use, directions weren't clear and no instructions on how to install the pads. The container that holds the cleaning solution doesn't snap in -- had to push in with the palm of my hands which got pinched. The container that holds the cleaning solution is not as large as the other reviewers made it seem (Maybe, a gallon). The machine itself is awkward to handle, the bottom is heavy and when lifting doesn't lock in the upright position. Which slammed on my hardwood floor and ceramic tiles due to the heavy motor. The lack of instructions on how to probably use the enclosed attachments (pads), assembly and the non-lock upright feature has made this product a disappointment. I was ready to send it back but will give it a second try now that I figured out the problem areas. As for the cleaning, don't know, will give it another try. Customer Rating: Summary: have a question about this Comment: I read the other reviews and am considering buying. But need to know if this works well for carpets too ? All the reviews seem to only talk about the Hard Floors. Customer Rating: Summary: Where has this machine been all of my adult life? Comment: Purchased several months ago, but just now got around to using it this weekend. Assembled in no time (no problems as mentioned in other amazon.com reviews). Filled tank with cleaning solution/water per instructions and cleaned several floors in the same amount of time it used to take to do one room. Would definitely recommend the purchase of the Floormax F5300 to anyone who has floors that need heavy duty cleaning (or just regular cleaning). This machine is worth every penny I spent. Customer Rating: Summary: Received and used the Hoover F5300 Floormax Comment: This has to be one of the all time great machines!! In a total of 4 hours from assembling everything to putting everything away, I was able to remove 17 years of wax and grime from my vinyl kitchen and utility room floors. The difference in the before and after floor color and shine is amazing. This machine was extremely easy to use. The directions were very clear. It is light weight and very efficient. The removal of the dirty residue with the vacume action was wonderful. I only had to empty the dirty water tank one time for the whole operation and that was extremely easy. Thank you, Hoover, for such a wonderful addition to my cleaning needs. Now I will not hesitate to do my floors again whenever they need it. More Reviews When mere vacuuming no longer cleans floors and carpets properly, this appliance steps forward to do the dirty work with astonishing versatility. For hard floors, it power-scrubs then picks up water and vacuum-squeegees the floors dry, then waxes, polishes, and buffs them. For carpets and rugs, it shampoos them clean as a whistle. Included with the Floormax are six sets of pads and brushes to handle all surfaces and 16-ounce containers of bare-floor cleaning solution and carpet shampoo. Features include finger-tip control of the cleaning-liquid dispenser, a splash guard to confine spray, a toe-operated on/off switch, wheels to easily roll the Floormax from place to place, and a hanging handle for convenient storage. The included accessories: multi-purpose brushes, felt buffing pads, cleaning/waxing pads, soft-cloth pads, and shampoo brushes. --Fred Brack Choosing Appliance -> Servicing Your Appliance Buying this "service deal" can be expensive but if you feel happier knowing that you are protected from breakdown for a few years, shop around insurance brokers to see how prices compare. Choosing Appliance -> Whip / Whisk Many still consider a whip as a "gourmet" piece of kitchen equipment. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is as essential as a kitchen stove and should be in everyone's kitchen. Nothing works better for mixing a multitude of different preparations or for making sauces or gravy. Buy a solid stainless steel whip with moderately stiff wires. Very thin wires are for mixing delicate things like egg whites or whipped cream. Very thick, solid wires are for mixing stiff dough. Hoover F5300 Floormax Useful info -> Dishwashers Don't put up with intrusive machine noise in the kitchen. Most dishwashers are now whisper quiet, 45-49dB being typical. You should still be able to watch the television or hold a conversation whilst the machine is operating. |
