Summary: A MAJOR WINNER!!!
Comment: Ya' gotta' love this product. Simple, efficient, easily cleaned, reliable, and so very versatile. I use this at least 3 times a week in my kitchen, and never seem to tire of the results. Food comes out of the Showtime moist and tender. Like I said, ya' gotta' love it. Set it and indeed forget it!

Summary: Tacky advertising - but it works as advertised!
Comment: After over a year of use, we are still happy with our "Ronco". Without a doubt, the best use is for rotisserie style chicken. It cooks them quickly, evenly and juicy. Beef products have been a disappointment. It disassembles easily for cleaning. And you really can "set it - and forget it"!

Summary: Save your money
Comment: This gets WAAAAY To hot to have safely on a kitchen counter. It is also hard to clean and cheaply made. But my main concern was how awfully hot the outside of this thing gets. Be sure you have this up and away from children or anyone. The cooking times were also much longer and the only thing we thought was good at all in here was chicken. Did not live up to all the TV hype, of Set it and Forget it,,,,,,, I would Never buy another nor recommend.

Summary: SO FAR SO GOOD
Comment: The rotisserie works very well so far.
POSITIVES -- We like the way it cooks food, but it takes longer to cook to our taste than the instructions indicate. Cleanup is really easy (but follow the instructions to line the back with foil). We use it on the porch which gets the heat and cooking odors out of the house. It has done a turkey, chickens and a beef top round roast (which came out tough).
NOT SO POSITIVES -- It is supposed to hold a 15 pound turkey but we had to squeeze to get a 14 pounder in. Don't put onions, carrots, etc. in the bird - instant ejection. Plan on 50% additional cooking time.
We haven't used the basket yet because the food in the center is a lot farther from the heat than the food on the sides of the basket. Something doesn't seem right about how it will cook.
Check everything closely before using the unit. Our turkey fell when a rod bearing screw came out and the bearing came off. Scary at first but Easy to fix.
DISLIKE -- One of the rails for the door is broken (in an obviously weak area). We discovered it after several times using the rotisserie. We don't know if it came that way or not. The warranty does not cover anything that breaks (read it on the web)(check out the return for service policy too). I can't find a parts list or any way to order the part on the RONCO site and Sears doesn't have parts either.
OTHER -- There are reviews that diss the plastic gears. The problem could be from loading the rods off balance. Check the balance on a counter (see if it wants to roll) before finalizing preparations. This is also a good time and way to season the outside of a roast-to-be.

Summary: My local market is missing me
Comment: I love rotisserie chicken and turkey. So much so that I used to purchase several chickens and 1 or 2 turkey breast halves each week at the deli department of my local supermarket (my entire family shares my love of poultry cooked in a rotisserie). Three months ago, I bought this machine and have never looked back. I was paying $7 for a small chicken and $10 for half of a very small turkey breast. Now, I get them for half that amount and they are ready whenever I am in the mood. Plus it may be my imagination, but I think the ones I cook are better than the ones I used to buy. Just the other day, the deli department was asking why I never buy from them and I couldn't help telling about my Showtime rotisserie and how great everything cooked in it tastes! As for cooking times... I discovered that if I am careful to center the chicken/turkey/or other meat on the spit not only from end to end but also so that parts of the item cooking are always equi-distance from the cooking surface as it rotates. Since I have begun being exacting about placement, it has always cooked within the time estimated. I have yet to use the basket so I cannot attest to the cooking times suggested for its use.
Cleaning, yes, I have to admit, it is not the easiest to clean but it helps if you do it when the machine is still WARM - NOT hot as that would get you burned. Even still, elbow grease is required, however, I feel it is worth the effort.
I am certain I have paid for this machine in the short time I have owned it and even though it will almost certainly take longer in your home, I am confident your machine would pay for itself!

Choosing Appliance -> Non-stick Pans
We recommend having at least 1 high quality non-stick saute pan. It makes cooking eggs and delicate items like fish a breeze. It also cuts down on the amount of fat necessary to effectively saute. The best place to buy such pans is from a restaurant supplier.
Choosing Appliance -> Ovens
Most avid bakers prefer separate, even-heat double electric ovens. If that describes you - and you have the space - be sure one of the ovens is equipped with a broiler that provides at least 3,000 watts of cooking power. Also look for racks that pull all the way out and lock in place for safe, easy access to the oven. On the inside, a dark interior shows less baked-on grime, while a porcelain interior is easier to clean

Useful info -> Grill
Grilling is a pervasive tradition in the United States. There are many cook-offs for steak grilling and good 'ole fashion barbecue (mid-western and southern style) around the United States with serious cash prizes involved in most. Almost all competition grillers use charcoal, most often in large, custom designed brick or steel grills. They can range from a few 55 gallon oil drums sawed lengthwise on their sides to make a lid and grill base, to large, vehicle sized grills made of brick, weighing nearly a ton.
