Customer Rating:   Summary: Great, but you may still need scoop.... Comment: This is great. Everything it should be. Rock hard ice cream does not stand a chance! My reason for 4 stars is this needs the KitchenAid scoop as a partner: used in a medium to small container, the spade carves out slices that kind of curl around and are sort of hollow, this is fine for my guy that eats a good size bowl (they layer on top of each other to make a semi-solid mound). For me the amount I want ends up in kinda uneven slices that are missing the "spoon factor" of a bowl of ice cream. i want 1 or 2 small solid scoops. So I bought the matching scoop and now feel i have it covered. They are both very well made, you can feel it when you pick them up. KitchenAid delivers, just pick your color! No matter how cold or hard the icecream/yogurt is, the spade cuts right through. I considered getting the type that has anti-freeze type liquid which supposedly helps. I'm so glad that I got this Kitchen Aid spade - it works far better than any other scoop that I've tried. The handle is perfect as well, and the whole thing is well-balanced. My mother-in-law has the Kitchen Aid "scoop" version. It's good, but I'd give it 4 stars. If you must have round ice cream balls for an ice cream cone, then you could get that, however the spade works much better for scooping ice cream, cutting through easily and scooping plenty. You could still make a "ball" if you really wanted to with the spade. Definitely 5+ stars. I'd pay twice as much for it if required. Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Check the capacity. 'Standard' 60cm wide dishwashers can take 12, 14 or 16 place settings, whilst slimline 45cm models may cater for 7, 8 or 9 place settings. Useful info -> Is stainless steel really stainless? Choose a good quality sink to avoid problems later. Buy cheap and you will discover that stainless steel can stain and even rust! Mild acids such as vinegar will promote rust in stainless steel where the nickel content is low. Stronger acids such as those used by photo processors will have a detrimental effect on all stainless steels. |
