Customer Reviews of Bodum Assam 17-Ounce Tea Press
Customer Rating: Summary: Love it, love it!!! Comment: This is a great product for any tea lover who prefers loose tea, doesn't want to brew only one cup at the time but doesn't need a whole teapot. I am buying it now as a present for my tea loving friends! Customer Rating: Summary: Great little teapot! Comment: At only 500ml this is the perfect teapot for small quantities - does 2 cups easily with a bit left over. Looks good, works just perfectly, and generally does exactly what it says on the box. For fine teas, it will let just a very few fine leaves through into the tea but that doesn't bother me - tea bags often do the same. I'm using mine for herbal teas and you can generally infuse the same tea leaves a couple of times, giving you more cups of tea! Customer Rating: Summary: Just my cup of tea Comment: The tea press is perfect for my desk at work. Just enough tea for a break freshly brewed instead of out of a papercup from a tea bag! Easy to use. Easier to clean! Customer Rating: Summary: I like it. Comment: Arrived promptly. Packaged well. This is a great little pot for brewing tea, especially loose leaf, which usually makes a mess. Perfect size for personal use, makes a perfect 2 cups Customer Rating: Summary: this is pretty good Comment: overall i like this and it is very useful. my only complaint is that the tea always seems to spill when i go to pour it. i think it's a design flaw because it doesn't matter how i position the infuser part or even if i take it out, it still spills. More Reviews Tea, as a beverage, was discovered in Assam in the early 19th century. Assam is.the rich, green land of rolling plains and dense forests is the gateway to the north eastern part of India. The mighty Brahmaputra river that has its origins in Tibet charts its majestic course through this state. This mystic land of eternal blue hills and beautiful rivers is renowned for its tea, rich flora and fauna. In Assam, tea is grown both in the Brahmaputra and Barak plains. Tinsukia, Dibrugarh, Sibsagar, Jorhat, Golaghat, Nagaon and Sonitpur are the districts where tea gardens are mostly found. Assam produces 51% of the tea produced in India and about 1/6th of the tea produced in the world. Almost equally reknowned, Bodum Assam 2-Cup Tea Press 1842-01GVP was originally designed for the British Tea Council and the British really take their tea seriously. Using a similar mechanism found on Bodum's popular French-Press product, the Assam gets more flavor from the tea leaves than an ordinary tea pot. The secret is in the plunger mechanism which squeezes the tea leaves down, retaining their presence at the bottom of the pot, to infuse all their properties into the hot water. There are so many teas on the market, and many are or can be blended for particular qualities. Whether you choose black, green white, herbal, or medicinal tea, the Assam teapot is the best and easiest way to get a really delicious tea. So whether you're British or not, this teapot from Bodum is personifies the best. Choosing Appliance -> Baking sheete Not too much romance here, but essential for any functional kitchen. Buy the heaviest pans possible. Also, you should consider buying a non-stick silicon sheet: they make baking very easy! Choosing Appliance -> Range Cookers The way you cook is also key to deciding which type of range cooker to choose. No-frills heat storage ranges such as Agas retain heat they have gradually built up and generally have two ovens without temperature controls - the hot oven is for roasting and baking, the cool one for slow cooking/keeping warm. Bodum Assam 17-Ounce Tea Press Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Cleaning & Maintenance Oven Never use a scouring pad of any sort to remove stubborn stains or soiled areas, since these pads scratch the finish and any future soiled areas won't clean up as well, especially with the self-cleaning models. When the oven is cool to the touch, place a cloth or sponge, dampened with warm to hot tap water, onto the soiled area and allow it to sit, for about ten minutes or so, to help loosen the soil. |
