Customer Rating:   Summary: Not as good as the other Kitchenaid Clad pieces Comment: I bought this steamer for the 3-quart Kitchenaid saucepan. It does not fit well and tips when there is no food in it. I believe this is due to the lip of the pan as well as the fact that the steamer has the handle of a regular saucepan and thus tips when empty. I rang Kitchenaid customer service (and I only have nice things to say about them) and they sent me a new 3-quart saucepan. The same problem exists. As it is the pan this steamer is designed to be used on, this is somewhat of a problem. Of course, while there is food in it, it steams perfectly well. Customer Rating: Summary: All-Clad Alternative Comment: Never thought I could own a top of the line cooking set due to the exuberant prices..., but Kitchenaid made it possible. I found the quality, style, and detail better than All-Clad's stainless, but at a lower cost. Hope they expand their line offering to compete better with All-Clad. Overall, very amazed and pleased with the cooking results. Note, pots are very heavy. Found difficulty in washing/rinsing due to weight. Wouldn't want to drop this on your foot. It will save so much time when it comes to simple chopping or more advanced preparations like mayonnaise. As with most things, buy quality-- it will last longer, be capable of tougher jobs, and give you less problems. Useful info -> Dishwashers A concealed heating element reduces the risk of lightweight plastic items such as children's drinking cups melting onto it after becoming dislodged mid-cycle. Limescale build-up is also prevented. Some manufacturers now produce models with the concealed heating element coiled around the water inlet pipe for further energy efficiency. |
