Customer Reviews of Global 8-3/4-Inch Bread Knife
Customer Rating: Summary: Global Knives are the beset Comment: I have tried a wide variety of knives out there. I quickly learned that Japanese knives are the way to go. After trying several Japanese brands, Global really stood out. I would recommend not only this knife but any Global knife to anyone looking for a quality knife. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Comment: It is by far the best bread knife money can buy. You will not go wrong. Customer Rating: Summary: Another excellent Global knife Comment: Buy this knife if for no other reason than it makes minimal crumbs when slicing baked products, less mess to clean. Also does an excellent job chopping chocolate. Customer Rating: Summary: It's great for meat, loaves, or meat loaves. Comment: This was the second Global knife I ever bought. I've had it for many years, and the serrated blade keeps it cutting like the day I first took it out of the package. Besides cutting bread, which it handles in a Godly fashion, this has always been my knife of choice when cutting large roasts, turkeys, meatloaf, and even cakes. The serrated blade helps grip the meat as it slices, allowing for a perfectly thin piece every time. And with the meatloaf (as well as pates and terrines if you're savvy with the culinary lingo), it's the best tool to use without worry of the meat crumbling as you make each slice. I love using it for cake and even cheese cake because the long thin blade allows you to cut from end to end in one long slice rather than hacking at it with smaller knives that just weren't meant for the job. So whether you're looking for a specific knife for your bread or roast cutting needs, or just another pretty knife to add to your collection, this is the knife for you. Customer Rating: Summary: Rockin bread knife Comment: Like all globals this knife is perfect. Looks good and feels good and sharp as a tack. Thanks Global. More Reviews This 8-in. Bread Knife has a sharp, serrated blade to slice through even the hardest artisan bread crusts. This serrated knife is also a good choice for breaking up bulk chocolate for melting and baking. Loved by professional chefs around the world, Global knives are an excellent choice for the serious home cook. The thin and razor sharp Global blade allows the cook to cleanly slice through foods, preserving the integrity of the ingredient and maximizing its flavor. The majority of Global knives are ground to a straight point rather than the western style of beveling the edge. To balance their knives Global uses a hollow handle that is filled with just the right amount of sand to create the correct balance. The handle has its own unique darkened dimples for a non-slip grip. Because the knives are very light weight they reduce hand fatigue. Global knives have a smooth contour and seamless, all stainless construction that eliminates food and dirt traps. Global knifes are forged in Japan from CROMOVA 18 Stainless Steel, a blend of 18 percent chromium for good stain resistance plus molybdenum and vanadium which gives excellent edge retention. Choosing Appliance -> Sinks Consider which accessories might be beneficial. Many models can be supplied with a draining basket, chopping board and strainer bowls. A drainer extension can be useful for sinks without a drainer where worktop space is limited in a small kitchen. Choosing Appliance -> Taps Dual-flow mixers provide independent hot, cold or mixed water after leaving the end of the spout. They can be deck-mounted on the sink or pillar/bridge-mounted for a more traditional look. Alternatively, choose a monobloc tap, which is a single-hole fitting that usually has two handles for hot and cold water supply. Global 8-3/4-Inch Bread Knife Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Maintain Electrical Safely The insulation on electrical cords can become damaged by wear, flexing, or age. Do not use any cord that is stiff or cracked. Some clues that you may have an electrical problem are:
