Customer Reviews of FoodSaver 3-Piece Canister Set
Customer Rating: Summary: No warranty on cracked jars Comment: Be aware that the manufacturer does not warranty the cannisters! As a "one-time courtesy" they agreed to replace my small cannister when it developed hairline cracks after a couple of months of use. Love the concept, but the product really needs a re-design. When they work, they are great. Just be warned that the money you spend may be for throw away products. Customer Rating: Summary: FoodSaver itself is great, but this product is not Comment: I have had my FoodSaver itself for over two years now and am quite happy with that purchase. These canisters, however, are another story. While I have not had a problem with cracking I have had a problem with them mantaining a seal. What I often find is that I seal them, according to directions and they seem to have good suction. However, a day later I will pull a canister out of the cabinet or off the counter only to find the cover comes off immediately. Initially I thought the problem was that other items were falling onto the button that releases the suction, but I have had this problem even when there is no possibility something could have fallen on or bumped these containers. Additionally, the fact that you cannot stick them in the freezer or microwave limits their usefulness, but does it really matter if they don't maintain their seal? It's too bad they haven't fixed this product issue because these are a great, handy idea in theory, they just don't work in real life. Customer Rating: Summary: Reliability is the issue Comment: I bought 3 sets and two lids wouldn't keep sealed until I realized that after pumping you should release the pump"s handle before detaching the tube don't relase the tube from the top of the canister first. Now I have one lid that doesn't work. I thought these were Microwave safe and believe me they are NOT! So I've not lost a small canister. Now I have an extra lid and canister (MED). Anyone have the oposite? Customer Rating: Summary: The canister cracks Comment: It worked for a while till the bottom of the canister cracked. It stopped working because the crack prevents the vacuum. It's completely useless. Customer Rating: Summary: Had mine for 5 years now...no cracks Comment: My canisters outlasted my sealer!!(have @ 10 and just order more) Just bought a new sealer (FoodSaver V2840) The only advice I can give is never put into dishwasher(that is the only one I had develop cracks) I use mine EVERY day, store coffee in it and reseal for storage with no issues.... More Reviews 3pc Round Canister Set Choosing Appliance -> Hobs If you enjoy eastern cuisine, you can buy a speciality hob with a wok burner. Similarly if you are a BBQ fan, choose a BBQ grill. If you are left handed, go for front rather than right hand side controls as this eliminates the risk of reaching across the heat. If you cook for a large family, more than four rings may be useful, and if you have young children it may be worth considering paying a little extra for a hob guard or in the case of gas, choosing an automatic re-ignition or cut off device should the flame blow out. Choosing Appliance -> Stainless steel bowls These are the best all purpose bowls for a multitude of applications. Choose a wide range of sizes (be sure to get a large bowl for whipping egg whites and whipped cream). In general, the heavier the bowl, the higher quality. FoodSaver 3-Piece Canister Set Useful info -> Outdoor Kitchen Few summer pleasures are as much fun as a cookout. The smell of grilling food is mouth-watering, everything tastes great and it's hard not to have a good time - that is, unless you're the harried host running back and forth between the grill and the kitchen for the chicken and steak, forks and knives, beer and wine, and ketchup and mustard. And when everybody's done, all the leftovers must be lugged back inside. |
