Customer Rating:   Summary: Great, lasting machine!! Comment: I have had this floor cleaner for over a year now. I have a non-toxic cleaning business and I have been using my floor-mate daily (up to 4 hrs/week!) for as long as I have owned it. It is great on wood floors (as long as the floor boards are not warped) and on linoleum. It has trouble working on tile floors, since it can't really get in the grout. I sometimes use a white vinegar/water solution (especially on tile since the vinegar kills mildew) and I use a enzyme based cleaner called "Naturally Clean Floors" (www.naturallycleanlife.com) on all types of floors. I also use a tsp of Ecover's Floor Soap (which is like Murphy's Oil Soap) with my floor-mate. I have only used the dry vacuum part of my floor-mate once or twice. It can suck stuff up, but not as well as my regular vacuum does. All of the parts can be replaced EASILY (with a screw driver) with parts from E-bay. I get all of my replacement squeegees and filters from e-bay. You can also get ANY other part for this thing on e-bay. Overall, I REALLY like this thing. Mopping is such a hassle compared to using a floor-mate! It cleans floors better than mopping and is soooooo much faster. It is loud on my ears (but I use it for up to an hour at a time). If the suction is not as good as it used to be, look at the squeegee. It may be worn and need to be replaced. Also, you may need to wash out the filter or eventually replace it. You should never need to throw this entire machine out. ALL pieces can be replaced for cheap! I have put about about 250 hours on my floor-mate and it is still running strong. Customer Rating: Summary: great idea but bearings are cheap Comment: i have had 3 of these and each time the bearings inside went and it always happened with in 2 years.i am looking for one that can last longer now.also the other thing is the brushes dont reach the grout if your grout is a little deep.it will only get the top of the tile. Customer Rating: Summary: Initially acceptable, but eventually worthless Comment: I bought this machine several years for use on my vinyl floors. It intially worked reasonably well for cleaning, although the dry vacuum function was never very good. As time went on, it became less and less effective. I don't want to POLISH the dirt, I want to remove it! The scrubbing brushes just aren't strong enough to clean up anything oher than very light or loose dirt. Forget stains or dried on messes. It can't touch them. I eventually tossed it in disgust. It's easier than using a mop, but it doesn't work half as well. Customer Rating: Summary: Mom's Perfect Little Helper Comment: WOW! This machine literally saved my mom from extreme excruciating pain. She discovered the wrong way she had a herniated disk in her hip from getting on her hands and knees and washing and waxing her kitchen floor. The pain was so severe she would cry with very little movement and the immobility caused her unbelievable frustration. As she dealt with healing and therapy, I sought out something to prevent her from being in this situation again. This machine scrubs every nook and cranny, soaks, mops AND sucks dry her kitchen floor with a simple walking back and forth motion. Soon, I plan to purchase my own and I strongly suggest any using a old mop and bucket or getting on your hands and knees to invest in this MACHINE!!! You will be so glad you did. Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Check the capacity. 'Standard' 60cm wide dishwashers can take 12, 14 or 16 place settings, whilst slimline 45cm models may cater for 7, 8 or 9 place settings. Compact dishwashers tend to be 45 cm wide and can be placed on the worktop or built in, depending on the model. They may take 4, 5 or 6 place settings. Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen.
