Summary: Bent on first apple
Comment: I bought the Rosle fruit corer; it was the largest one. When I got it, it stated on the tag: Pineapple. However, I went ahead and used it to core a Rome apple, and it bent.
I don't know if the smaller version is heavier or not.
Also, this corer has the tag which says "Germany," but beside it in smaller print and a see-through tag is printed, "made in China."

Summary: Rosle - not always "Made in Germany"
Comment: I have the Rosle Fruit Corer and it actually works quite well (as it should for a $20+ corer).

However, I'd like to counter something in Fred Brack's official Amazon review: not all Rosle products are "Made in Germany." Many are "Made in China" and it's difficult to tell from the labels Rosle attaches to its products. Williams Sonoma, for example, adds "Made in China" onto its price sticker, probably to spare customers from finding out later and being incensed.

Rosle's Chinese products may be as good as Rosle's German products. I don't know. But, personally, I think there's more to it. If I'm going to pay Rosle's prices, I want a quality product made in a country with decent labor laws and pollution controls. That's not China.

Summary: Play with your food...
Comment: This fruit corer is sturdy and gets the job done. One push, and whoosh...the apple is cored. You can partially core also, it's sharp enough that you don't have to use a lot of force, so you can leave a 1/2 inch at the bottom to hold in your filling if you are making baked apples.

As always with Rosle, the corer has a hanging hook and feels solid.

More Reviews With a twist, the Fruit Corer with its sharp serrated front ring can be easily inserted into the fruit to remove the core. Perfect for coring apples. Like all Rosle Tools, this one is made by a team of engineers and artisans who combine the best of both worlds spending days, months or sometimes years developing and designing each of their tools to exacting standards and specifications.

Choosing Appliance -> Taps
If you want a sink with large bowl dimensions to cope with big-pan washing-up, it is worth considering a tap with a pull-out or pull-down spray rinse. This gives you water anywhere you need it around the bowl area.
Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards
There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening!

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Stainless Steel Maintenance
Wipe away any acid spills such as from vinegar or grapefruit straight away. Never clean the bowl or draining board with an abrasive cleaner. Instead use liquid detergent in warm water and wipe with a soft cloth to remove water drop marks. Care for stainless steel appliance fascias and cabinet fronts in the same way. If choosing stainless steel cabinets, a 'brushed' surface is less likely to show grease from finger marks.
