Summary: Very good addition to my cookware
Comment: This little skillet has come in so useful . . . in fact, now that my fruit trees are bearing, I may make nothing but crepes for breakfast for the rest of the summer! With this skillet, it's almost as easy and quick as making pancakes.

Summary: Excellent non-stick skillet
Comment: This is my second purchase of exactly the same skillet. Most of the cookware I use is the Anolon Advanced because of their excellent heat distribution and non-stick qualities. I have tried others but Anolon Advanced is still my favorite. Allows for healthy essentially fat-free cooking. The outside finish is also very easy to clean.

Summary: too small
Comment: LOVE ANALON but this is about the size pan to fry just a egg. I am slowly replacing my pots and pans with analon products. They are great as far as non stick goes you can make anything from ribs to cakes and the pans are as easy as a wipe down. I got the 5qt stock pot also that is way too small.

While some may consider this a bit on the gadgety side, I think it is a must as dressings do not stick to water-logged salad greens.
Choosing Appliance -> Plastic wrap
An absolute must with a million and a half uses. But do not buy just any plastic wrap. Go to a restaurant supply store and buy a large roll of restaurant plastic wrap. It sticks much better than the common grocery store plastic wrap and is much cheaper per foot.

Kitchen tips -> Garlic
  • When selecting, choose garlic that is plump and firm with paper-like skins that are tight and intact. Avoid any that are soft or that have begun to shrivel.
  • Place garlic cloves in the microwave for 15 seconds and the skins should peel off easily.
  • Keep peeled and mince garlic fresh by placing it in a small jar and pouring just enough olive oil over it to cover the garlic and then place it in the refrigerator. It will keep its fresh flavor for about a week.
  • Don't throw out sprouting garlic. Instead, plant the cloves fairly close together in a pot or in the garden (if your climate is suitable at the time). The new shoots that appear will have a mild garlic flavor and can be used in the same manner as regular chives.
