Customer Reviews of Oster 6663 Designer 12-Speed Blender with Glass Jar, White
Customer Rating: Summary: NICE BLENDER! Comment: WE ORDERED THIS BLENDER TO REPLACE THE ONE THAT WAS BROKEN AND THE PRICE AND VALUE OF THIS BLENDER WAS GREAT. IT WAS MUCH BETTER THAN THE ONE IT REPLACED AND ENTIRE FAMILY IS PLEASED WITH ITS OPERATION AND PERFORMANCE. WOULD RECOMMEND FOR A NICE HOUSEHOLD BLENDER. SHAVES ICE NICELY ALSO! Customer Rating: Summary: I Hate This Blender! Comment: I received this blender as a wedding gift several years ago. It doesn't blend very smoothly -- to avoid lumps, I have to frequently stop blending, stir the ingredients, and start blending again. It also doesn't blend things quickly. The worst thing about this product, though, is the noise: it is ridiculously loud (the disc sander, power drill, and other power tools in my home are all quieter!). The only reason I gave it two stars instead of one is that it has lasted several years without frying completely (though this may be too generous, as I only use it rarely and the motor smells burnt when operating). Customer Rating: Summary: Stuck with a piece of junk Comment: My grandmother had the same Oster blender since the 60's and it still works great. I recently bought this and was skeptical when I saw that Oster and Sunbeam or part of the same conglamourate. I stupidly threw the box and reciept out and my blender just went out in a blaze of non-glory. It was frustrating to keep poking at smoothies with a spoon so they would mix but now the whole thing just died after a month or about 5 smoothies. What's worse is I was using crushed ice instead of cubes to cut down on the work the wimpy motor needed to do anyway. Also the buttons were just for decoration I guess because it only had one speed. Save your money. Customer Rating: Summary: Not worth it Comment: I used this at my mother's house over Christmas and must say that this is not a good blender. There is no noticeable difference in the 12 speeds - only between speeds 1-6 and 7-12 and I had to repeatdly turn off the blender, dig in there with a spoon to stir up the fruit (or ice) and then turn it back on again, then it turn off , dig in there with a spoon to stir up the fruit (or ice) and then turn it back on again... And even then I didn't get a well blender smoothie/milkshake. I personally own the "Oster 4093-8O Classic Beehive Blender, Chrome" and love it (I have a review there). Its well worth the extra $7.22 - makes SMOOTH drinks on one blending cycle. Customer Rating: Summary: OK if you want a cheap blender, but you get what you pay for Comment: I bought this blender a couple of years ago, and still use it because its all I've got. I want to upgrade! I use it about once every 2 weeks. It is fine for the most basic uses, but honestly all those buttons are joke - horrible to keep clean, and there is no difference between any of the speeds. And the food doesn't drop down properly, only the stuff at the bottom gets blended. And if there isn't lots of liquid in there, it doesn't blend at all. I would not recommend it to anyone. More Reviews How about a strawberry yogurt smoothie to get your day off to a delicious, nutritious start? Then for dinner consider butternut bisque, or pasta with a sun-dried tomato pesto. With this powerful blender by your side you'll be making everything from malted milk shakes to margaritas with ease and convenience. Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice. Choosing Appliance -> Cooking Pans This is another area where spending money is justified. The best pans combine different metals like aluminum or copper on the outside and stainless steel on the inside. Aluminum and copper are valued for their ability to spread heat evenly over the entire pan, and stainless steel is valued for its non-reactive qualities. Buy pans which are heavy and thick with solid handles that are well fastened to the pot. As with knives, buy the highest quality cooking pans you can afford one at a time, starting with a saute pan and a 3 qt. sauce pan. They will last forever. At some point, a stock pot (which will be especially pricey) should be considered for serious cooking. Oster 6663 Designer 12-Speed Blender with Glass Jar, White Kitchen tips -> Brown Sugar
