Customer Reviews of Presto Pro EverSharp Electric Knife Sharpener
Customer Rating: Summary: sharpens fast Comment: It sharpens fast. And it stays a while. With this rate, I think I will use it for long time. Customer Rating: Summary: It does what it promised Comment: I bought the Presto Pro Eversharp Electric Knift sharpener 2 weeks ago and has been using it to sharpen all my kitchen knives and it works like wonder! I should have bought this long time ago - highly recommended! : ) Customer Rating: Summary: Easy to use, works great Comment: I was skeptical when I bought this because of the price - compared to other sharpeners. This sharpener is great. It works and is easy to use!!! The left side sharpener is a course grinder while the right side is a fine grit sharpener. Both sides employ separate rotating grinding disks. You first pass the knife on the left side course grinder for 12 seconds (6 seconds for the right side of the blade and then another 6 seconds for the left side). After which you sharpen the blade another 12 seconds on the fine grit sharpener. The whole process takes about 30 seconds. If the blade hasn't been sharpened for a while you will need to do this process about twice. This sharpener really works. It took all my dull knives and sharpened them to easily cut tomatoes. CAVEAT: when sharpening, make sure to draw the knife in a steady continuous motion. Do not apply pressure and press the knife down. Customer Rating: Summary: Sharper Image Comment: I recently ate at a local Japanese Hibachi Bar and I was more amazed by how sharp the knives that the chefs were using than the tricks that they performed as they cooked my meal. I said, man I gotta get a set of knives like that! A few years ago I bought a new set of knives from Amazon (J.A. Henckels Twin Signature 7-Piece Knife Block Set). The problem with this excellent set of knives is that the sharpener that came with it is one of those steel wands. A Master Chef can clank that wand back and forth against the blades of his knives with great precision to create a razor sharp cutting tool. I, on the other hand, somehow seem to have made the blades of my knife set duller using the dog-gone wand. So sitting there at the Hibachi bar I had an epiphany! A voice! It called out in my head...."Buy a better knife sharpener." Where better to look than the place that I bought my knives: Amazon. Type in: Knife sharpener. Lo and behold: dozens of choices of knife sharpeners!!! Woo-hoo! The Presto Pro EverSharp Electric Knife Sharpener has a lot of high ratings; it's inexpensive...give it a try. Try I did, and the knives in my set are now sharper than they were when they arrived new! The Presto Pro is pretty cool: a 4-slot little machine that looks like a mini-toaster. Turn it on. To sharpen: apply very little pressure...run your blade 3 times through both slots on the left side of the toaster...er...I mean...sharpener; to hone: again...not too much pressure...run your blade 3 times through both slots on the right side of the sharpener. And voilĂ ! You're cutting through meat and veggies like a Master Hibachi Chef! Great little product. Stop reading my goofy review and add it to your cart. Customer Rating: Summary: Good while it lasted Comment: I owned this for about a year. It work great but constant use took its toll. Last week I tried to use it and the motor wouldn't turn. Investigation showed that vibration in the engine had caused it to break two of its 4 mounting points. These are just simple screws into very thin plastic. Thus one of the grinding wheels was touching the internal casing. It must have been coming loose for a while as the vibration had bent the shaft slightly which means the whole thing runs out of balance. So into the garbage with it More Reviews Choosing Appliance -> Servicing Your Appliance Buying this "service deal" can be expensive but if you feel happier knowing that you are protected from breakdown for a few years, shop around insurance brokers to see how prices compare. Choosing Appliance -> Energy-Efficient Refrigerators The EnergyGuide label on new refrigerators will tell you how much electricity in kilowatt-hours (kWh) a particular model uses in one year. The smaller the number, the less energy the refrigerator uses and the less it will cost you to operate. In addition to the EnergyGuide label, don't forget to look for the Energy Star label. A new refrigerator with an Energy Star label will save you between $35 and $70 a year compared to the models designed 15 years ago. This adds up to between $525 and $1,050 during the average 15-year life of the unit. Presto Pro EverSharp Electric Knife Sharpener Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Cleaning & Maintenance Oven Never use a scouring pad of any sort to remove stubborn stains or soiled areas, since these pads scratch the finish and any future soiled areas won't clean up as well, especially with the self-cleaning models. When the oven is cool to the touch, place a cloth or sponge, dampened with warm to hot tap water, onto the soiled area and allow it to sit, for about ten minutes or so, to help loosen the soil. |
