Customer Rating:  Summary: still going strong Comment: bought this for my mom who tried mine and loved it. Mine is years and years old and still going strong. Lightweight and easy to manage. It is noisy, as mentioned by other reviewers, but it only runs a few minutes at a time so that has never bothered me. Mom really loves the fact the the veggies can go directly into the salad bowl and that the pieces don't get too small from over chopping like they do in a food processor. The months between when the first one died and when I ordered the new one, I found myself constantly going to the cupboard to get it! Very handy for many of the recipes I make, and I love that I can slice or shred the ingredients right into the bowl or pan that I am using. This item is simple to disassemble so you can place parts into the dishwasher, making clean-up easy. Choose a wide range of sizes (be sure to get a large bowl for whipping egg whites and whipped cream). In general, the heavier the bowl, the higher quality. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Ease of cleaning is well worth considering at the outset. Stay clean liners resist dirt build-up but pyrolitic cleaning is the ultimate. It burns off all baked-on debris at 500°C so that all you have to do is sweep out the resulting ash.
