Customer Reviews of Rival 1042W Electric Food Slicer, White
Customer Rating: Summary: Rival Electric Food Slicer Comment: This food slicer works perfect. Only problem was the FedEx driver delivered to wrong address. The regular driver delivered it, a few days later. Customer Rating: Summary: Buy a good knife-Sensio foldup food slicer same as Rival 1042W Comment: This product is poorly designed comes with instructions so vague and incomplete that it must have been an afterthought. Our first and only use was to slice mozzarella cheese. Slices are uneven. Cheese particles collect in every seam and inaccesable space on the machine. The instructions state that the machine must be disassembled for cleaning but fail to reveal how this is done. The folding platform collects food in spaces impossible to clean without removal or submersion both of which are impossible. Customer Rating: Summary: A bargain Comment: Bought for $25 locally, looks flimsy although it slices ham & cheddar well. The gear on the blade is plastic, we've heard they can melt. I suspect the problem in those cases is pushing the food hard onto the flat surface of the blade. A light pressure works fine, just enough pressure to hold the food to the blade. Most parts, including the *very* sharp blade, are easily removable for handwashing. The main section that houses the motor cannot be immersed and can only be wiped, which is not difficult. The size of the machine prevents slicing an entire pork leg at once, you'd want to plan on cutting the large roasts into chunks no bigger than about 6 inch cubes. Only rated a 4 because the food tray & the pusher need to be stored separately from the folded base & main body, and because the plastic just *seems* flimsy, and also because the owner's guide does not discuss sources of replacement parts if ever needed. So far so good, we intend to slice bread next. Customer Rating: Summary: meat slices Comment: My husband loves to slice a large sandwich ham from the store. It actually saves money to do so. It is easy to clean and store. Customer Rating: Summary: PRODUCTS SUCKS Comment: I bought this item upon reading the reviews. I don't know how these users can say this a a good product for bread, it is not! Bread sticks while trying to slice. Can't Rival 1042W Electric Food Slicer, Whiteexert presure on bread because its too soft, therefore you get a slice thats deformed. Bread gets hunk-up on bottom of blade and you get a deformed slice. Bread is to wide for machine. Save your money, use an electric knife. Choosing Appliance -> Fridge / Freezers By law manufacturers must disclose the energy efficiency of their appliances, rated A to G. These are usually displayed prominently in showrooms. The better the rating, the more energy efficient the appliance is - good for both the environment and your pocket. Choosing Appliance -> Do I need a dishwasher? If you enjoy washing by hand, no! However modern machines use less water, detergent and power than ever before and wash hotter using really powerful cleaners giving a hygienic wash result. You can save around 500 hours a year so it is worth thinking about. If you have a small kitchen or live alone, choose a slimline model. Rival 1042W Electric Food Slicer, White Useful info -> Kitchen tips Shelves or cabinets above the cook top can hold foods that aren't affected by warmth, such as pasta, rice, and cereal. A shelf just below these cabinets but above the cook top can transform the space into a cooking workshop, providing a handy resting place for timers, spices, cooking supplies and implements. |
