Customer Reviews of Kaiser Bakeware La Forme Braided Loaf Pan
Customer Rating: Summary: Use This Pan For Rhum Baba for Jewish New Year Comment: Use the La Forme Braided Loaf Pan for a spectacular adapted Rhum Baba for your Jewish New Year celebration. I'd been asked to create a spectacular dessert cake for the Jewish New Year that incorporates apples and honey. I thought it would be fun to bake a cake that looks like the traditional braided challah bread, but clearly is a dessert. A lightbulb lit up as I thought of Ina Garten's Baba Au Rhum; a yeast cake drenched in rum syrup and served with an apricot glaze and whipped cream. But, my mission was to include apples and honey, so instead of dark rum as prescribed in Ina's recipe, I used Laird's Applejack and replaced the pure apricot glaze with a glaze of half apricot preserves and half apple jelly. In the baba, I replaced the sugar with honey. Look for Ina's recipe at http://http://www.recipezaar.com/153278/ Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent for Gluten Free Challah Comment: I produced a beautiful loaf of Gluten Free Challah with this pan. I removed the loaf about 10 minutes early and inverted it onto a baking sheet before giving it an egg wash. Back into the oven. Result, a glossy loaf of Gluten Free Challah. The pan cleans easily with soapy water. Customer Rating: Summary: beautiful bread Comment: I am so impressed with Kaiser La Forme pans. They are manufactured I Germany and the quality is very apparent. I bake bread at home almost every day so I try lots of recipes. I got tired of looking at the same loaf. I have many Nordic Ware (USA) pans and I will probably buy more of them, but I'm looking at Kaiser first. I can do a lot of things, but braiding bread is not one of them. I can make some really ugly braids. The pan will give you the braided look, but it's obvious to me that it is just a mold. It's still beautiful and my family can't tell the difference. Due to the recipe I used, I had to cut off the top of the loaf so that when it was inverted it would be flat on the plate. Choosing Appliance -> Energy-Efficient Refrigerators The EnergyGuide label on new refrigerators will tell you how much electricity in kilowatt-hours (kWh) a particular model uses in one year. The smaller the number, the less energy the refrigerator uses and the less it will cost you to operate. In addition to the EnergyGuide label, don't forget to look for the Energy Star label. A new refrigerator with an Energy Star label will save you between $35 and $70 a year compared to the models designed 15 years ago. This adds up to between $525 and $1,050 during the average 15-year life of the unit. Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice. Kaiser Bakeware La Forme Braided Loaf Pan Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Hob and grill cooking Modern appliances reach higher temperatures quicker - and often hold heat longer.
