Customer Rating:   Summary: Very good coffee maker Comment: I've had this coffee maker for about 10 years now. I use it mainly on weekends - maybe 5 cups/week. I have never had a problem with it. It makes very good coffee without the waste of making a whole pot (I'm single). It's not an eye catcher sitting on the counter - but, what do you want for [...] bucks. It's very good at it's intended purpose. The only issue that I have is with cleaning the inside water tank. It's pretty nearly impossible to get anything in there to clean it. After a while, a calcium build up will result with a change in color of the plastic in the tank in the areas that you can't get at. I control it by running vinegar through the unit (without coffee :) ) and then flushing it out with water. Any coffee connoisseur knows that it's imperative to keep a coffee maker spotlessly clean in order to make really good coffee. Also, the coffee grinds will invariably get into the holes in the top cover where the hot water comes out. To clean that, I wipe it off with a sponge, and then carefully turn the unit upside down and run the top section under the kitchen fawcet to flush out the grinds. There are no electrical components in the top section - so if you are careful not to get water inside the main unit, you will be OK. Just let it dry out real good before you turn the unit back on. I have been cleaning it this way for 10 years and the unit is still going strong. In so far as the temperature, the coffee turns out better if you use cold water. I use a mug warmer to keep the coffee hot while I'm sipping it. It works for me! Customer Rating: Summary: Instant Hot Water Comment: I order these coffee makers like crazy. People laugh at first when they hear that I keep one in my bathroom to get instant hot water to wash my face morning and evening. My bathroom is such a long distance from the water heater that I hate wasting water and spending so much time waiting for hot water. I love this little instant (and cheap) hot water dispenser. The instant water heater they sell to install in your bathroom is very expensive and takes up needed space under the counter. This little jewel is my answer and I just throw it away once it quits working...it lasts for at least 2 years using twice a day. Customer Rating: Summary: Great for traveling Comment: This is just the right size to bring along with you on trips, or in an office. It takes up a really small amount of space. It's ideal for those of us who just want that one or maybe two cups of coffee. I love the size, all the other one cup makers took up twice as much space. This makes a great gift too for those friends and relatives who do alot of traveling. Customer Rating: Summary: Exactly what I wanted Comment: There have been many times that I wanted a cup of coffee but I didn't want to make a whole pot just for myself. So I found this B&D Cup-At-A-Time Coffeemaker, but when I saw the price I thought it must not be very good. Wrong! After looking at what other people on amazon had said about this coffeemaker I decided to purchase 2 of them; one for my mom and one for me. We both already have the whole bean coffee and grinder so we could use it now for either our 12-pot coffeemakers or our One-cup coffermakers. And we didn't have to get the special pods that other single-cup coffeemakers typically use. We did purchase the Size #1 filters; they cost about $1.80 for a box of 40. This coffeemaker is so easy to use and we are both really glad we got them. The automatic shutoff is perfect especially for my mom since she is older and tends to forget to turn off things. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Coffemaker!! Comment: This is the perfect coffemaker for anyone that doesn't need a full pot. It works great and I love that it has the auto shut off feature when it is done brewing. My only complaint which I read here before I purchased is that if you put cold water into it the coffee isn't very hot. The solution is to put hot water in and it comes out great. Over all I think it is a great buy. More Reviews Many coffeemakers make 6 or more cups of coffee. How often do you need 6 cups? If you really appreciate coffee, then, chances are, you like each cup to be freshly brewed Note - your Good Old Favorite Mug may or may not fit in this coffeemaker--experimentation is the key! 
Choosing Appliance -> Sinks Consider which accessories might be beneficial. Many models can be supplied with a draining basket, chopping board and strainer bowls. A drainer extension can be useful for sinks without a drainer where worktop space is limited in a small kitchen. Choosing Appliance -> Baking sheete Not too much romance here, but essential for any functional kitchen. Buy the heaviest pans possible. Useful info -> Sinks The choice of sink materials is huge. Stainless steel is self-healing, hygienic and co-ordinates with the latest trend in appliances. Fireclay or ceramic sinks are solid and traditional with the latter being available in a core range of colours such as blue and green as well as white. |
