It works like a standard colander, but the enhancement of a lid adds the ability to twist and shake to get more water out. The lid also serves as a colander in it's own right, and that's for items which are served well by a shallow colander. More Reviews Draining water from food takes on new dimensions with this 2-piece, 2-quart colander. With three sturdy legs to keep contents above water, the deep colander drains up to 1 pound of cooked pasta. The shallow colander can be used separately for small amounts of food, inverted to drain cans, or interlocked by a tab into the large colander. When interlocked so that the shallow colander faces dome side out, the double colander forms a perfect interior space for leafy greens that can then be rinsed and shaken dry. With both parts nested together, the colander measures 4-1/4 by 9 (14 if including handle length) inches. Choosing Appliance -> Do I need a dishwasher? If you enjoy washing by hand, no! However modern machines use less water, detergent and power than ever before and wash hotter using really powerful cleaners giving a hygienic wash result. You can save around 500 hours a year so it is worth thinking about. If you have a small kitchen or live alone, choose a slimline model. Kitchen tips -> Chicken pieces When cooking chicken pieces, start with the dark pieces and then add the white chicken. The dark takes longer to cook than the white, so starting the dark first will assist in the white and dark getting done close to the same time |
