Customer Reviews of Tupperware Large Hamburger Press
Customer Rating: Rating: 2/5Rating: 2/5Rating: 2/5Rating: 2/5Rating: 2/5
Summary: not really worth it
Comment: All of the parts are a little flimsy, you need 4 hands to really get this right. The meat starts to squeeze out between the press and the sides and when you are done pressing it sticks to the press. I was able to make it work, but it is really not worth the trouble, I would not buy it again.

Summary: Overpriced, too much work!
Comment: $35 minus the TUPPERWARE brand name = $3

There is absolutely no reason this piece of plastic should be priced @ $35!
I gave it 2 stars only because the quality is good.
However, there are SEVERAL non-stick aluminum, spring-loaded presses on the market that cost around $20!
They are MUCH less work and handle a much larger volume of ground beef. Shop around, don't pay for a name!

Summary: Perfect Patties Please!
Comment: I LOVE this product, it forms perfectly shaped hamburger patties in less time and much less mess! You can either purchase or cut out wax paper circles and place them on the bottom of the press before you place your ball of meat ontop to produce clean release burgers everytime! By doing this, you can stack freshly pressed burgers one right on top of the other without them mashing and sticking together. You can make up several hamburgers/turkey burgers ahead of time, stack, zip lock and freeze them for whenever you need to pull out a quick meal from the freezer!

Summary: Perfect Burgers
Comment: The best thing about it is that you can compress the meat to make good firm burgers that don't fall apart while cooking or eating. You can even mix in your favorite seasonings (onion salt, onion soup mix, etc.) before you press them and freeze. Even great to use it when your not freezing. It's less expensive then buying preformed burgers in the meat case and better than the ones from the freezer case.

Summary: I bought one for my husband
Comment: He is in charge of all the hamburger grilling around here because he makes them better than anyone else in the family. He really loves this wonderful tool. He says the meat doesn't stick at all, and he can make the burgers any thickness he wants. He hates having to get the hamburger under his fingernails, so this saves him all that trouble too.

We buy our meat in bulk, so this is a great way to freeze up individual patties too. We just stack them with a piece of waxed paper between each of the patties. I'm diabetic, so this regulates my portions very nicely too.

This is one of those little tools that you will never regret having in your kitchen because you will use it a lot. I use it on salmon patties, meat loaf patties, etc, and have even pressed some veggie/noodle combinations in it for freezing.

The greatest part is that you can put it in the dishwasher! I always prefer using the dishwasher with any item that comes in contact with raw meat.

It's a real pleaser for this Ma and Pa combination!

More Reviews Hands don't need to touch raw meat when making hamburgers with this patty press. Scoop ground beef or low-fat ground turkey into the press, push down lightly on the handle and gently twist, then remove handled press and press ring. The patty can stay right in the "keeper" container, which then stacks and interlocks with Tupperware's large hamburger freezer set. Or, the patty can be turned out of the flexible container onto a plate, ready to grill. To make patties uniform in size, measure the meat for each scoop; a 1/4-inch gap should be left between the patty and side of keeper for expansion when frozen. All three parts--the press, ring, and keeper--can go in the dishwasher for easy cleanup. Assembled, the press measures 5-3/4 by 3-1/2 inches. It carries Tupperware's lifetime warranty against chipping, cracking, breaking, and peeling. --Ann Bieri

Choosing Appliance -> Non-stick Pans
We recommend having at least 1 high quality non-stick saute pan. It makes cooking eggs and delicate items like fish a breeze. It also cuts down on the amount of fat necessary to effectively saute. The best place to buy such pans is from a restaurant supplier.
Choosing Appliance -> Servicing Your Appliance
Buying this "service deal" can be expensive but if you feel happier knowing that you are protected from breakdown for a few years, shop around insurance brokers to see how prices compare.

Useful info -> Kitchen Design
By custom, the sink is placed beneath a window, both to provide daylight for chores done there and to give one a view outdoors. I suppose the custom derives from the days before dishwashers, when the task of washing up was a tedious affair done by hand. Yet working at a sink with a window is still much more pleasant than working at a sink without one. Designers often place the sink first and lay out the rest of the work triangle from there
