Customer Reviews of Fagor Silicon Gasket
Customer Rating: Summary: Fagor Silicon gasket for 9" pressure cooker Comment: I needed the gasket to replace my slightly worn one - and now I've done that, my meals are coming out as they should. I have been using an old gasket which was slightly melted in one spot, and I believe that compromised the cooker. I wish I had ordered 2 of these, so as to have one in storage instantly for the next time I need one! Customer Rating: Summary: Should have bought it months ago Comment: This solved the problem I was having with cooker not building steam. I was putting up with all sorts of twisting and banging to make the old one work for almost a year. Why did I not buy it then---description did not tell that it would fit my size cooker. They changed the description to explain the 9" and 10" gaskets. And they riased the price. Not to worry ---- this was the fix needed. I was ready to get a new cooker. Customer Rating: Summary: excellent item!!! Comment: It's an excellent item; good quality. The only complaint is you do not ship this item to Puerto Rico. So, I had to buy it to my aunt in NY and then she sent it to me. It was expensive. Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent replacement Comment: My old gasket didn't fall apart. It just went missing. This replacement works great. My pressure cooker is sealed, and my 45 minute pot roast is the envy of all who see it. Customer Rating: Summary: Hope this one does the trick Comment: Well I only had my original seal that came with the cooker about 4 months- it went bad (I did oil it like they advised) so we shall see how long this one lasts. I only use the cooker once or twice a month. More Reviews A silicon gasket's primary purpose is to create a constant tight seal. Over time a gasket can dry out and lose its elasticity. If you notice this happening, replace the gasket immediately. A worn out gasket can lead to steam not building up, or worse, escaping from your cooker. Choosing Appliance -> Do I need a dishwasher? If you enjoy washing by hand, no! However modern machines use less water, detergent and power than ever before and wash hotter using really powerful cleaners giving a hygienic wash result. You can save around 500 hours a year so it is worth thinking about. If you have a small kitchen or live alone, choose a slimline model. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Fagor Silicon Gasket Useful info -> EnergyWise House: Laundry About 80 percent to 85 percent of the energy used for washing clothes is for heating the water. There are two ways to reduce the amount of energy used for washing clothes - use less water and use cooler water. Unless you're dealing with oily stains, the warm or cold water setting on your machine will generally do a good job of cleaning your clothes. Switching your temperature setting from hot to warm can cut a load's energy use in half. |
