After reeading the reviews of the Kitchen Aid 12" round griddle, I purchased one in the hopes that these problems could be avoided. I tried cooking pancakes at lower settings, but they did not rise properly. When I finally raised the temperature up to 60%, the Kitchen Aid griddle warped also, and cooked slower around the edges. Customer Rating: Summary: Pure Awesomacity Comment: First time using hard-anodized cookware and I couldn't be more pleased with this product. KitchenAid can be hit or miss in terms of quality but buying this along with their 12 piece set has made cooking and cleaning up an absolute breeze. I tested this griddle by burning some eggs on it and they came off the bottom of the pan with no effort, just had to swirl around the part that connects the handle to the pan a few times to get the rest. Choosing Appliance -> Knives The importance of high quality knives can't be stressed enough! Buy the best you can and expect to spend some serious money. It is better to buy a couple of excellent knives and slowly add to your collection rather than buying an entire set of low quality knives. Start with a chef knife and paring knife. You will also want to buy a sharpening steel. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Ease of cleaning is well worth considering at the outset. Stay clean liners resist dirt build-up but pyrolitic cleaning is the ultimate. It burns off all baked-on debris at 500°C so that all you have to do is sweep out the resulting ash. Look out for ovens with a steam cleaning facility, too, and remember that some ovens have removable inner doors that are easy to clean.
