Customer Reviews of Lodge Logic Pro 20-by-10-7/16-Inch Cast-Iron Grill/Griddle
Customer Rating: Summary: Nice, but could be a little longer Comment: The kids love this thing as it makes great pancakes and I like it because it cooks evenly and doesn't burn. It could be a tad bit longer to fully clear the burners on our stove which I believe is a standard size gas oven with 4 burners. This sits over top of 2 of them but could be about an inch longer on both sides. Customer Rating: Summary: I love my Griddle. Comment: It is a heavy piece of cast iron but worth cooking on a gas stove. Customer Rating: Summary: Gets better and better Comment: I have had several other griddles and about 18 months was about it before they were toast. This one is built to last. I use it about every day. It does most things well but where it shines is browning the food. Nothing does it like cast iron. You can move it to the grill if you need to or pop it in the oven as well. It does not heat totally even so you have to keep that in mind and keep the food moving. I just pour off the grease when I am done and let it cool a bit. I squirt some Dawn on it and rinse it off while giving it a little work with a dish brush. I can clean it in 30 seconds or less. The thing I like best is the more you use it, the better it cooks. That is good because I suspect it will be around for 100 years or so. Customer Rating: Summary: Hints for Use Comment: Here are some hints for all who have trouble with food sticking. 1. Heat the griddle before applying oil. The rule is: hot pan, cold oil, food won't stick. 2. Apply the oil using a folded paper towel held in a pair of tongs. 3. Cooking sprays will be too dangerous to use on a hot griddle, a flare up may occur. 4. Since this griddle is very heavy, allow sufficient time for it to heat before oiling and to achieve a more even heat. 5. I don't own this griddle, but I have been cooking on many non-stick surfaces and this technique works for all of them. Customer Rating: Summary: Great cast iron grill Comment: The unit tranfers heat evenly to the cooking area. We have used the grill and the griddle and they both worked excellent! Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Check the capacity. 'Standard' 60cm wide dishwashers can take 12, 14 or 16 place settings, whilst slimline 45cm models may cater for 7, 8 or 9 place settings. Compact dishwashers tend to be 45 cm wide and can be placed on the worktop or built in, depending on the model. They may take 4, 5 or 6 place settings. Choosing Appliance -> Taps If you want a sink with large bowl dimensions to cope with big-pan washing-up, it is worth considering a tap with a pull-out or pull-down spray rinse. This gives you water anywhere you need it around the bowl area. Lodge Logic Pro 20-by-10-7/16-Inch Cast-Iron Grill/Griddle Useful info -> Dishwashers Energy efficiency is of paramount importance, not only to save money on electricity bills but also to help reduce power station emissions that contribute to global warming. Look for brands with low energy consumption (energy efficiency ratings will be displayed in the showroom). Levels are now as low as 1.3kW/hr on some slimline models largely because of reduced water consumption. A delay timer can help take advantage of cheap overnight electricity. |
