Customer Reviews of Zyliss Transparent Mini Salad Spinner with Storage Lid
Customer Rating: Summary: don't put it in the dishwasher Comment: My boyfriend put the colander in the dishwasher the first week I had this salad spinner, and the heat caused the colander to warp so the spinner is now completely useless. Customer Rating: Summary: Perfect spinner! Comment: I am very pleased with this purchase. The mini Zyliss spinner is large enough to spin a salad for 4, and small enough to store easily. It's amazing how much water I pour out of the bowl after just a few quick pulls on the cord! Some features I particuarly like: The bottom of the bowl has 3 non-skid pads for stability while spinning. The two way action of the spinning bowl tosses the salad nicely (no more shaking!). AN IMPORTANT NOTE: the editorial review indicates that you need to watch out for fingers and such when you let go of the string - but you should never let go of the pull cord as you operate the Zyliss spinner! It's very simple to operate, just pull firmly on the cord handle (the basket spins one way), and keep holding it as the string retracts (the basket spins the other way). Just two or three pulls and your greens are ready to eat! I've also found it helps to place your other hand on the top of the spinner for added stability. Enjoy your salads! More Reviews This smaller 2-quart salad spinner dries just enough greens to feed side salads to a family of four. The plastic colander insert is useful for a first washing and straining of lettuce leaves, kale, or collard greens and then fits into the transparent bowl to spin dry. The tight-fitting spinner lid has a pull cord that rotates the basket in two directions so greens are tossed as well as dried. The plastic ring on the end of the cord is hard and heavy so make sure fingers and any breakable glassware or ceramics are out of the way when you let go. If the cord becomes unwound, you can easily rewind it by rotating the bottom of the spinner lid. This salad spinner’s bowl has three non-slip pads underneath it to keep it stable during spinning and comes with an extra storage lid to keep salad greens fresh for days at a time. --Cristina Vaamonde Choosing Appliance -> Range Cookers The way you cook is also key to deciding which type of range cooker to choose. No-frills heat storage ranges such as Agas retain heat they have gradually built up and generally have two ovens without temperature controls - the hot oven is for roasting and baking, the cool one for slow cooking/keeping warm. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Ease of cleaning is well worth considering at the outset. Stay clean liners resist dirt build-up but pyrolitic cleaning is the ultimate. It burns off all baked-on debris at 500°C so that all you have to do is sweep out the resulting ash. Look out for ovens with a steam cleaning facility, too, and remember that some ovens have removable inner doors that are easy to clean. Zyliss Transparent Mini Salad Spinner with Storage Lid Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Cleaning & Maintenance Oven Never use a scouring pad of any sort to remove stubborn stains or soiled areas, since these pads scratch the finish and any future soiled areas won't clean up as well, especially with the self-cleaning models. When the oven is cool to the touch, place a cloth or sponge, dampened with warm to hot tap water, onto the soiled area and allow it to sit, for about ten minutes or so, to help loosen the soil. |
