Customer Reviews of Kaiser Bakeware Noblesse 9-1/2-Inch Quiche Pan with Removable Base
Customer Rating: Summary: Functional, but lethal Comment: This is a good, sturdy tart pan. While the coating is pretty good, it doesn't cover the edges, thereby exposing the underlying metal, and it's starting to rust there already, even with meticulous hand washing. And, along those lines, this pan cut the LIFE out of my hand when washing it. That top, uncoated edge is razor sharp, and when all lubed up with soap and applying pressure to wash the bits of tart out of the nooks and crannies, the pan slipped and sliced 3 fingers. I was bleeding for days; the cuts were deep. Usually, I'd chalk this up to idiocy, but I have no idea what I would have done differently. I think from now on, I will actually hold it in a padded oven mitt, wash thoroughly, and then toss the mitt in the wash. I'm not kidding, it WILL happen again. Customer Rating: Summary: SOLID AS A ROCK! Comment: This quiche / tart pan is ROCK SOLID. Made in Germany... more durable than the typical pan found at the discount stores! Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent product Comment: I've been baking since my preteen years, and so I've come to know that a little weight in a baking sheet or pan is a plus for the baker. Weight means that your baked goods are secure when being transferred to and from the oven, that they brown well and evenly, and that the pan will last for years with proper care. This pan offers all those pluses and is a quality product. Customer Rating: Summary: Much higher quality than most out there Comment: What I like best about the Kaiser Noblesse pan is that unlike most pans this is coated so it will not rust. You can put this into the dishwasher and it washes up well. I have had less expensive tart pans with no finish only have them rust. This pan will not rust, and the removable base really helps you serve up your dish in a very eye pleasing way. The removeable base also enables slicing your dish easily. I highly recommend this pan! Customer Rating: Summary: 9.5in pan Comment: very nice. thicker and sturdier feeling than some of the standard tart pans. Someone noted that the edges are sharp? I didn't think that the edges were unduly sharp. I don't recommend using the pan bottom as a cutting surface though. The whole pan seems to have some kind of nonstick coating. More Reviews Kaiser's 9 1/2 Inch Noblesse Quiche Pan with Removable Base features heavy gauge steel construction, a durable non-stick coating for easy release of delicate foods, and a 3 year warranty. The heavy-gauge constructon and dark non-stick coating transfers heat evenly, ensuring a rich, buttery, golden brown crust that's easy to get out in one piece. It also means your baked goods will cook in about 10 percent less time than other pans. Made in Germany. Hand wash. Choosing Appliance -> Range Cookers The way you cook is also key to deciding which type of range cooker to choose. No-frills heat storage ranges such as Agas retain heat they have gradually built up and generally have two ovens without temperature controls - the hot oven is for roasting and baking, the cool one for slow cooking/keeping warm. Choosing Appliance -> Cooking Pans This is another area where spending money is justified. The best pans combine different metals like aluminum or copper on the outside and stainless steel on the inside. Aluminum and copper are valued for their ability to spread heat evenly over the entire pan, and stainless steel is valued for its non-reactive qualities. Buy pans which are heavy and thick with solid handles that are well fastened to the pot. As with knives, buy the highest quality cooking pans you can afford one at a time, starting with a saute pan and a 3 qt. sauce pan. They will last forever. At some point, a stock pot (which will be especially pricey) should be considered for serious cooking.
