Customer Rating:   Summary: Tomato Slicer - Pedrini Comment: We have just recently purchased this tomato slicer from Amazon. We do not normally do reviews but this item is so bad - We think that Amazon should pull it from their webpage. It will not begin to slice a tomato - It will squash it before it cuts it. We tried to saw it but that would not work either. We are going to see if it will slice an egg and if it won't do that we are going to throw it in the trash! I could have Amazon take it back - but I did read the bad reviews and ordered it anyway - It is really my fault for ordering it. Customer Rating: Summary: Tomato Slicer Is Not Sharp Comment: I recently ordered a Pedrini Black & Satin Stainless steel Tomato Slicer through Amazon.com. The delivery was very prompt. The slicer came with a clear plastic cover for the blades. But the problem is that the tomato slicer is very dull. The tomatoes are literally torn up by the time they are completely sliced. The metal blades on this item bent the first time I used it. I was even trying to saw carefully as other feedback recommended. This thing takes a lot longer than a traditional knife. The tomato juice goes everywhere and its flimsy. You actually have to saw and the blades bend like crazy. Dont waste your time or money. Also, you should consider buying a non-stick silicon sheet: they make baking very easy! Choosing Appliance -> Whip / Whisk Many still consider a whip as a "gourmet" piece of kitchen equipment. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is as essential as a kitchen stove and should be in everyone's kitchen. Nothing works better for mixing a multitude of different preparations or for making sauces or gravy. Buy a solid stainless steel whip with moderately stiff wires. Kitchen tips -> Chicken pieces When cooking chicken pieces, start with the dark pieces and then add the white chicken. The dark takes longer to cook than the white, so starting the dark first will assist in the white and dark getting done close to the same time |
