Customer Reviews of Pedrini Black & Satin 5.5" Strainer
Customer Rating: Summary: Hole in the mesh Comment: This item had a small hole in the middle of the mesh which pretty much defeats the purpose of a strainer. Also, note that the mesh is not that fine. The description leads you to believe this is fine mesh and it is not. I returned this product effortlessly to Amazon and they refunded my money quickly. Customer Rating: Summary: Handy Dandy Strainer Comment: This is a wonderful little strainer -- just right for washing cherry or grape tomatoes for a salad -- and a great value! Customer Rating: Summary: Great little strainer! Comment: The mesh is fine but also strong, it doesn't "dent" easily. I love it for straining gravy stock before thickening (who likes lumps of fat in roast beef gravy??!!). It's also great for small pastas such as pastina, which can fall through most colanders. One word of wisdom -- clean it with a kitchen brush as soon as you're done with it, before the mesh gets clogged and harder to clean. Very handy! Customer Rating: Summary: No rim to "catch" food Comment: The one great feature I love about this one is there is no groove between the mesh and rim for small beans/legumes to get lodged into. I gave away one of my stainless steel strainers because of the time spent unclogging the groove. Customer Rating: Summary: Great Medium Sized Strainer Comment: I use this strainer all the time. It is well made and dishwasher safe. It was also priced well. It has clips on the side of it that allow you to sit it securely on top of a bowl. It will hold 2 lbs of hamburger meat easily. I recommend it. More Reviews Choosing Appliance -> Salad spinner While some may consider this a bit on the gadgety side, I think it is a must as dressings do not stick to water-logged salad greens. Choosing Appliance -> Energy-Efficient Refrigerators The EnergyGuide label on new refrigerators will tell you how much electricity in kilowatt-hours (kWh) a particular model uses in one year. The smaller the number, the less energy the refrigerator uses and the less it will cost you to operate. In addition to the EnergyGuide label, don't forget to look for the Energy Star label. A new refrigerator with an Energy Star label will save you between $35 and $70 a year compared to the models designed 15 years ago. This adds up to between $525 and $1,050 during the average 15-year life of the unit. Pedrini Black & Satin 5.5" Strainer Useful info -> Outdoor Kitchen Few summer pleasures are as much fun as a cookout. The smell of grilling food is mouth-watering, everything tastes great and it's hard not to have a good time - that is, unless you're the harried host running back and forth between the grill and the kitchen for the chicken and steak, forks and knives, beer and wine, and ketchup and mustard. And when everybody's done, all the leftovers must be lugged back inside. |
