Customer Reviews of SiliconeZone 11-by-15-Inch Non-Skid Flexible Cutting Boards, Set of 4
Customer Rating: Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5
Summary: Everyone should own a set!
Comment: Easy to grab and store. These thin cutting boards are great in the kitchen.

Summary: Great cutting boards
Comment: I am totally satisfied with these cutting boards. Advantages: non-skid side; set of four individually colored to match with various foods prepared; flexibility is a great aid in being able to funnel the food off of the cutting "board"; they can be thrown in the dishwasher (top shelf) and I use the "sanitize" setting to insure their being okay for use with food. Very worthwhile product and a lot less expensive than all the different hard wood or bamboo cutting boards which can not be sanitized.

Summary: Non-Skid Great for Kids
Comment: I teach cooking classes to children and these have quickly become my favorite mats. They do not slip, are easy to clean, and the variety of colors makes a nice presentation to the room when my students walk in.
There are other versions out there at retail stores like Bed, Bath & ...
They are not the non-skid version and sell for the same price.
Take the extra time and order these!

Customer Rating: Rating: 4/5Rating: 4/5Rating: 4/5Rating: 4/5Rating: 4/5
Summary: Satisfied
Comment: These cutting boards, being flexible and flat, are easy to store anywhere and are easy to wash. I find that they do skid a little bit but it isn't a major problem. The colours add a nice change to the usual wooden boards or white plastic boards.

Summary: sokay
Comment: The anti-skid stuff is pretty much useless. I give this product 4 stars because, unlike most similar products, it doesn't curl like a sombich. I've had mine for a good length of time and they're still flat after over a hundred dish washer cycles.

More Reviews Perfect for slicing and dicing and then funneling food directly into a bowl or pan. Ideal for chopping chocolate to be melted. Protects your countertop and prevents bacterial build-up. Lightweight -- take it when camping, boating, backpacking, or on picnics. The silicone pattern base provides a non-skid surface, preventing the mat from moving on the countertop while in use.
Set of 4 translucent colours: blue, green, orange, and pink.
Made of heavy grade flexible plastic with a non-skid silicone backing. Dishwasher safe, or soak in warm soapy water and wipe clean.
Colours not exactly as shown in photo.

Choosing Appliance -> Knives
The importance of high quality knives can't be stressed enough! Buy the best you can and expect to spend some serious money. It is better to buy a couple of excellent knives and slowly add to your collection rather than buying an entire set of low quality knives. Start with a chef knife and paring knife. You will also want to buy a sharpening steel.
Choosing Appliance -> Mixer
Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice.

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Maintain Electrical Safely
The insulation on electrical cords can become damaged by wear, flexing, or age. Do not use any cord that is stiff or cracked. Some clues that you may have an electrical problem are:
  • Flickering lights. If the lights dim every time you turn on an appliance that circuit is overloaded or has a loose connection.
  • Sparks. If sparks appear when you insert or remove a plug, they could be a sign of loose connections.
  • Warm electrical cord. If an electrical cord is warm to the touch, the cord is underrated or defective.
  • Frequent blown fuses or broken circuits. A fuse or circuit breaker that keeps tripping is an important warning sign of problems.
  • Frequent bulb burnout. A light bulb that burns out frequently is a sign that the bulb is too high a wattage for the fixture.
