Customer Reviews of Oster 6239 Inspire Toaster Oven, White and Chrome
Customer Rating: Summary: Enjoy and Use Dailey Comment: I bought the Oster Toaster Oven to replace a Welbuilt oven I'd had for many years. I've had the Oster since Dec 2005, paid $39.99. I really liked the design, and its digital. I am extremely happy with its preformance. No problems with heating (cooking) elements. I use it almost dailey, for baking cakes, bread, pies, fish stick and chicken nuggets, pizza anything bakeable.Instead of heating up my big range oven. I dont use it for toast. I have an Oster Toaster for that. It would seem using it for toast would overuse both upper and lower cooking elements. I think Oster could have come up with some other sound it beeps when you set the cooking time, and tempeture and beeps when cooking cycle is finished. But wouldn't consider it annoying enough to return it. For those hard of hearing, its perfect :-) Customer Rating: Summary: Oster Toaster Oven, Big Disappointment Comment: After two years of mainly using it to toast only, the top two burners have stopped working. For the orignal cost, you would think this toaster oven would have lasted longer. Customer Rating: Summary: One and a half years and broken Comment: My wife and I bought this toaster in December 2003 because of the large size and nice styling. For over a year we used it primarily for toasting, but started using it a few months ago for baking small dishes (chicken nuggets for the kids, etc). About two weeks ago the top two heating elements stopped working and we noticed that the front one had "bowed" in the middle so that it now touches the top of the toaster oven. The top, back heating element is also slightly bent. Nothing extraordinary ever happened to this appliance, and we're not sure what caused the bowing of the top heating elements. Obviously, it should have been able to handle the normal heating /cooling cycles associated with toasting and baking. It's pretty much useless now and is going out with the trash this week. Out of warranty and not much sense spending money trying to repair it. Stay away from this product. Customer Rating: Summary: Slow toaster that works okay Comment: I got this toaster in December 2003 and have been using it for the past 10 months. It is a pretty toaster with a lot of possibilities. The only problem is that it takes FOREVER to toast anything and you can't adjust the length of time for the toast. You can choose several presets times. The first setting is for the lightest toast and it is 2minutes and 30 seconds and you don't get any brown on the bread. The second is for 3 minutes and 30 seconds and you get normal browned toast. But 3 minutes and 30 seconds is a LONG time. Most toasters can toast under 2 minutes and it comes out fine. I don't think there is any great digital toaster out there, so I guess this one is okay. But it just takes forever! And the beeping is loud! Customer Rating: Summary: Toaster Nice - Amazon Customer Service Complete Crap Comment: The first toaster oven amazon sent me was defective. Amazon promptly sent me out a replacement toaster oven. It works wonderfully. This is much better than the poorly made Black&Decker toaster oven that I bought just a year ago and which won't even toast anymore. If you're looking for a nice, spacious toaster oven the Oster is pretty darn good. However, I am now stuck with the defective unit. Amazon originally said they would send the UPS guy to pick it up. Which they did ... with a label for a one pound package instead of the proper 17 pounds. When I asked amazon to correct this problem they sent me an email saying they would send me a Unites States Postal Service Authorized Return label (whatever that is). When I emailed them and asked if they were sending me a label for 1 pound or 17 pounds, they sent me a new and different email, saying I should now take the defective unit to the post office, pay for shipping out of my own pocket, and then submit a request for re-imbursement. If you are unaware, amazon gives you 30 days to get the defective product back to them. If you fail, they charge your credit card for the defective product. I think they are making this process purposefully obtuse so that they can suck more money out of people like me who foolishly think they would be as efficient on returns as they are on sales. And guess what? No 1-800 number and no other phone numbers are available. You can't even call amazon on the phone! I can call Sears and JCPenny and if I have to return something it's much easier. Much easier. This whole experience will have me think twice before buying anything from amazon ever again. I previously only puchased things like CDs and Books. this is the first time I tried to buy something weighing more than 5 punds. I can see now that amazon just isn't up to the task. They can't even process a return. More Reviews The all-in-one cooking solution for small kitchens and cooks looking for easy answers! This Oster Inspire Toaster Oven not only toasts up to 6 slices of bread but this extra-large toaster oven can bake, broil, toast and warm a wide variety of foods from pizza to tall roasts. Two reversible/removable cooking racks can accommodate 3 dishes at once (comes with baking pan and broiler insert). A variable broil function enables cooking at various temperatures using only the top elements. The double-wall, continuous self-cleaning interior assures uniform cooking with fully adjustable 150°-450° thermostat. A 60-minute timer and bell signal automatically turns oven off. Cool-touch side handles for easy, safe movement of oven. Removable crumb tray. Easy cleaning. Imported. Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Ease of cleaning is well worth considering at the outset. Stay clean liners resist dirt build-up but pyrolitic cleaning is the ultimate. It burns off all baked-on debris at 500°C so that all you have to do is sweep out the resulting ash. Look out for ovens with a steam cleaning facility, too, and remember that some ovens have removable inner doors that are easy to clean. Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Check the capacity. 'Standard' 60cm wide dishwashers can take 12, 14 or 16 place settings, whilst slimline 45cm models may cater for 7, 8 or 9 place settings. Compact dishwashers tend to be 45 cm wide and can be placed on the worktop or built in, depending on the model. They may take 4, 5 or 6 place settings. Oster 6239 Inspire Toaster Oven, White and Chrome Useful info -> Outdoor Kitchen An outdoor kitchen can help you slow down and spend more time with family and friends by putting all the ingredients for outdoor dining close at hand. It can be as simple as a storage cabinet for cooking gear or as ambitious as a full kitchen with grill, refrigerator, sink and eating area. Either way, your yard will gain an outside "room" that's a natural gathering spot. |
