Mince fresh cilantro into a spicy salsa or guacamole with these handy herb snips from Silvermark. This hand-held gadget features an herb stripper above the snip joint for stripping fresh herbs such as rosemary from its hardy stem for rosemary roasted potatoes or herbed dipping sauce. Below the snip joint, keen blades allow chefs to clip mint direct from the herb garden or mince whole basil into a tomato-basil pasta sauce.

Blades are constructed of high-quality stainless steel with micro-serrated edges that eliminate the necessity of sharpening that accompanies most kitchen knives. Rounded handles provide comfort and easy maneuvering. Handles pull apart for thorough cleaning. Wash the snips by hand to prevent rust and prolong efficacy. The snips measure 8-1/2 by 4 by 1 inches, and weigh 1 pound upon shipping. --Jessica Reuling

Choosing Appliance -> Taps
Dual-flow mixers provide independent hot, cold or mixed water after leaving the end of the spout. They can be deck-mounted on the sink or pillar/bridge-mounted for a more traditional look. Alternatively, choose a monobloc tap, which is a single-hole fitting that usually has two handles for hot and cold water supply.
Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens
Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans.

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Stainless Steel Maintenance
Wipe away any acid spills such as from vinegar or grapefruit straight away. Never clean the bowl or draining board with an abrasive cleaner. Instead use liquid detergent in warm water and wipe with a soft cloth to remove water drop marks. Care for stainless steel appliance fascias and cabinet fronts in the same way. If choosing stainless steel cabinets, a 'brushed' surface is less likely to show grease from finger marks.
