Customer Rating:  Summary: best peeler i've ever used Comment: this is without a doubt the best peeler i've ever used. my husband likes it so much, he had me order another one as a gift for a friend(who had a crappy peeler). it is almost effortless to use, very sharp, and the little rounded tip on the end is very efficient and easy to use for removing bad spots. it comes w/a protective cover on the blade, which we replace after using. i bought the extra blade, but have no idea when the original will have to be replaced. i highly recommend this peeler, especially if you have bought cheap "grocery store" peelers in the past; you'll notice a world of difference with this one! Customer Rating: Summary: Works Even Better than My Original OXO Peeler Comment: I have a 10-yr old OXO peeler that is still sharp but looking ratty - the white handle has gotten very stained. After checking several typical kitchen stores locally I couldn't find the same OXO model and was so glad to find this on Amazon. This new OXO peeler feels great and a definite improvement over my old ratty OXO peeler (that I still love). Its bigger and heavier than the old peeler but the added weight and balance makes peeling effortless. This thing is sturdy enough that I even peel butternut squash with it! Very happy with this purchase indeed and am getting this for other family members who also love to cook. My old one, after years of use, broke recently and I was debating whether to get this one or the old version, which I really liked. I'm glad I picked the newer style. Well balanced and comfortable, with a super-sharp blade... it makes quick work of potatoes. I like that the blade is replaceable; helps to make it more economical as the years go by. Not only is the cutting edge on their extra long stainless blade precision ground, like a fine knife, for a sharper edge, it's also replaceable. And of course you get the non-slip comfy grip you expect from an OXO tool. 
Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Check the capacity. 'Standard' 60cm wide dishwashers can take 12, 14 or 16 place settings, whilst slimline 45cm models may cater for 7, 8 or 9 place settings. Compact dishwashers tend to be 45 cm wide and can be placed on the worktop or built in, depending on the model. They may take 4, 5 or 6 place settings. Choosing Appliance -> Cooking Pans This is another area where spending money is justified. The best pans combine different metals like aluminum or copper on the outside and stainless steel on the inside. Aluminum and copper are valued for their ability to spread heat evenly over the entire pan, and stainless steel is valued for its non-reactive qualities. Buy pans which are heavy and thick with solid handles that are well fastened to the pot. As with knives, buy the highest quality cooking pans you can afford one at a time, starting with a saute pan and a 3 qt. sauce pan. They will last forever.
