Customer Reviews of Oxo Good Grips i-Series Peeler Blade Replacement Cartridge
Customer Rating: Summary: Super Peeler Blades Comment: A good peeler is a hard to find product let alone the replacement blades that go on the OXO Peeler. They come in a handy plastic package just like razor blades. They store very nice in the knife closet and are ready when you need another. I found this product to get very high marks as far a sharpness goes. Need xtra blades for your OXO peeler buy them here. At a excellent price by the way. Good Peels to you all. Chekawa Customer Rating: Summary: FINALLY ! Comment: I am a professional cook and for years I have been buying restaurant supply vegetable peelers at $2.50 a piece. Skinny metal handle and the blade dulls relatively quickly; I usually go through at least one every two months. After peeling 40 pounds of potatos or 50 pounds of carrots along with everything else, my hands hurt at the end of the day. My only reluctance to purchasing a more expensive peeler with an ergonomic handle was the issue of not being able to sharpen or replace the blades. Well...I just received my i-Series OXO peeler and replacement cartridges today. WOW. The quality is the best I've ever seen. As far as the price for the replacement blades. I bought a cartidge with two blades for $5.00 and the blades will outlast the peelers I was buying at the restaurant supply, therefore, I think the price for the replacement blades is perfectly reasonable. Thanks OXO. Great product. Customer Rating: Summary: Oh, to be as sharp as OXO Comment: Oxo is very clever. I never noticed how dull our vegetable peeler blades were until I got a new OXO Good Grips peeler. The great thing about this peeler is that it comes with replacement blades. (I imagine that one of the OXO product designers and his wife (or her husband) were having a funny conversation in the morning about shaving and peeling and viola - a peeler with sharp new replaceable blades. Anyway, the blades are great. They are very easy to insert and change. I do think the blades and the peeler are a little pricey, although as a near vegetarian, I think it was a good investment. Customer Rating: Summary: 3 for price, 5 for quality Comment: I think this is a great idea, but a bit pricey. I bought the wide and conventional peelers at 6.99 and 9.99. OXO generally makes very good products. Customer Rating: Summary: Always stay sharp with OXO Good Grips i-series peeler Rplacement Cartridge! Comment: This item was long overdo in coming to the market. Keep an extra blade on hand and never struggle to peel fruit or potatoes. The replacement blades are sharp and one need never worry about dull or rusty peeler blades. Thank you OXO More Reviews A peeler's only as good as its blade, right? So OXO, with its clever design team, developed a blade that can always be sharp. Not only is the cutting edge on their extra long stainless blade precision ground, like a fine knife, for a sharper edge, it's also replaceable. So if your OXO l-Series peeler blade is wearing out, it's time to purchase replacements. Choosing Appliance -> Do I need a dishwasher? If you enjoy washing by hand, no! However modern machines use less water, detergent and power than ever before and wash hotter using really powerful cleaners giving a hygienic wash result. You can save around 500 hours a year so it is worth thinking about. If you have a small kitchen or live alone, choose a slimline model. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years.
