Customer Reviews of SCI/Scandicrafts, Inc. Lobster and Crab Cracker
Customer Rating: Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5
Summary: Good Crab Cracker
Comment: We have used this type of crab cracker before, and like them. We wanted to give them as a gift to family, and searched high and low locally, but could not find anything we liked. Found them here, and immediately ordered 10 units.

The crab crackers are good, solid and can definitely crack the legs of the typical "crab clusters" found at your local seafood store. Never tried them on king crab legs, but would imagine they would do fine as well. All in all, these are fine tools for seafood enjoyment.

Customer Rating: Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5
Summary: Simply dangerous
Comment: I have one very similar to this, same design, material, just a different brand. It's dangerous to use it to crack crab shells as it is nearly impossible to keep a firm grip on the smooth surface. Also the jaws aren't designed to really clamp around anything and the teeth are rounded and useless. Since the handles are also so short, it is not possible to really gain any leverage.

More Reviews Don???t ever lose a precious morsel of lobster meat again. Use this tool to break open lobster or crab shells without destroying the edible insides. It???s both durable and whimsical. Be sure to have a few on hand for your next shellfish feast.

Choosing Appliance -> Dishwasher
Choose a dishwasher with sturdy compression springs in the door. Also look for tough, lightweight nylon or graphite racks with cushioned tips that protect glassware and cookware. Weimer recommends choosing a model with a rack design that provides the largest, most flexible interior space and is configured for your belongings, including odd-shaped pieces.
Choosing Appliance -> Stainless steel bowls
These are the best all purpose bowls for a multitude of applications. Choose a wide range of sizes (be sure to get a large bowl for whipping egg whites and whipped cream). In general, the heavier the bowl, the higher quality.

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Heat
Rather than cause accidental heat-damage, prevent such damage in the first place:
  • Always use a heat protection pad or trivet (with rubber feet) for hot cookware, or leave cookware to cool on the hob first. Never put hot pans, particularly cast iron. Such heat can damage any surface!
  • If you must put a hot pan on the base of a sink use a protective sink mat, sponge, or cloth beneath. It is best to leave the utensil to cool slightly first, or put a few inches of cool water in the sink before the pan.
  • Avoid pouring boiling liquids directly into sinks without turning on the cold tap as well.
