I don't like the pounders with "teeth" to tenderize because they tear the chicken or at least the papertowel I always place on top of the chicken before pounding it. It makes a good lid weight when cooking rice to make sure none of the steam escapes...and it's SO pretty. I think I only paid around $20.00 for it back then. This heavy weight meat pounder weighs in at just over 2-pounds. It will pound meat, fish or poultry into nice even slices with little effort. This is perfect for preparing chicken parmesan, beef, veal or tuna for Carpaccio. The one piece design is easy to use and clean. The solid stainless steel will withstand many years of usage without fail. The handle is 4-inches tall with a 3.5-inch circular base. Since there are no seams, it will not retain any food particles. This item is dishwasher safe. If washing by hand, do not use an abrasive scrubber as it may scratch the polished finish.
