Customer Rating:  Summary: Electrolux EL 6988D Canister vacuum Comment: We are pleased with the performance of the vacuum, particularly the suction and light weight of the canister. The vacuum was rated as a best buy in Consumer Reports and has proven to be an excellent appliance. At times, on upholstery, the suction is too strong, but can be dealt with by manipulating the attachments. Have not located the suction reduction control directions in the operating manual...if there are directions. Customer Rating:  Summary: Too Easily Broken!!!! Comment: I am a house cleaner and one of the houses that I clean for has this vacuum. I find that I am having problems with the rug attachment releasing and the prongs bending. The owners had to get new parts and now I think they are starting to wear again. This is a new vac and I am very careful with this equiptment. I would never purchase this vacuum!! I think it is terrible. Definately not made like they used to be. I use alot of different types of vacuums and this is not made well at all!!!! The cleaning power is great so much that it feels like the rug attachment is going to snap off, very powerful!!!! Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens Ease of cleaning is well worth considering at the outset. Stay clean liners resist dirt build-up but pyrolitic cleaning is the ultimate. It burns off all baked-on debris at 500°C so that all you have to do is sweep out the resulting ash. Look out for ovens with a steam cleaning facility, too, and remember that some ovens have removable inner doors that are easy to clean. Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans. Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Natural Granite Maintenance Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials instead, wash with clean warm water to which a non-abrasive light neutral detergent (PH7) may be added. Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a chamois leather or similar. Drainer Grooves can be cleaned using wire wool. |
