Customer Reviews of Chicago Metallic Commercial Cookie/Jelly Roll Pans, Set of 2
Customer Rating: Summary: Very happy with pans. Comment: They are not your department store cheapies, these are heavy duty pans. I love baking cookies in them. You can't go wrong, would order them again. Customer Rating: Summary: sturdy, works well. Comment: I use this to hold a matfer or exopat silicone baking pad. It fits perfectly, and the combination works great for baking homemade cookies or bread, or baking frozen foods. I haven't had any issues with under or overcooking, and cleanup is easy. The pan is quite heavy and sturdy. Customer Rating: Summary: Best pans money can buy Comment: Top top quality, heavy construction, durable, keeps its shape in the heat, non-stick but doesn't use any coating (I hate coating), made of metal/aluminum so it doesn't corrode or get stained. You can simply feel the top quality of these pans. Best pans you'll even own. Great for cookies, bread... Customer Rating: Summary: Not as happy as I hoped! Comment: Chicago Metallic Commercial Cookie/Jelly Roll Pans, Set of 2The two pans are obviously packed together and when I opened the box, the top pan looked fine. However, when I separated the two, the pan on the bottom was dented on the two long sides. Consequently, when I use it, if there is any liquid, it pools. Guess I should have just gone to a store and avoided shipping. Customer Rating: Summary: workhorses Comment: but for some discoloration I"m very pleased - they nest well, and are roomy. I think they're also a good weight - not too heavy but sturdy More Reviews Chicago Metallic's Commercial bakeware line is manufactured to meet the exacting standards of commercial bakers and those who want traditional uncoated pans. Strong and durable, it is backed by a 25 year warranty and can be easily cleaned in the dishwasher. Picking up this pan you will immediately note its substantial weight and thick rolled edges which will not warp as ligther weight bakeware is prone to do. Choosing Appliance -> Cutting boards There seems to be little difference between hard wood and plastic cutting boards from a safety standpoint, as long as they are properly washed and sanitized after each use. Personally, I like the feel of solid wood. One piece of advice--buy large cutting boards. Don't bother with these tiny boards that everyone seems to have in his or her kitchen. They are not user friendly. Once you get down to serious cutting or chopping, the small boards are always woefully inadequate and downright maddening! Choosing Appliance -> Knives The importance of high quality knives can't be stressed enough! Buy the best you can and expect to spend some serious money. It is better to buy a couple of excellent knives and slowly add to your collection rather than buying an entire set of low quality knives. Start with a chef knife and paring knife. You will also want to buy a sharpening steel. Chicago Metallic Commercial Cookie/Jelly Roll Pans, Set of 2 Useful info -> Energy-Efficient Appliances When you do have to shop for a new appliance, look for the Energy Star label. Energy Star appliances have been identified by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and DOE as being the most energy-efficient products in their classes. They usually exceed minimum federal standards by a substantial amount. |
