Customer Rating:   Summary: About as exciting as measuring utensils can get Comment: The reason I bought these is that they have a 1/2 TBSP (same thing as 1 1/2 tsp.) measure, and was happily surprised to see that they also include 2/3 and 3/4 C measures. Very handy, but just be careful that you don't use 2/3 instead of 1/2 like I did the first time you use them- it's easy to get the sizes mixed up. I took the cups off of the hook- too hard to clean. Otherwise they hold up well- we have a family of nine and they get used like mad. Customer Rating: Summary: As good as the fancy ones Comment: I didn't want to spend alot on measuring spoons and cups so was delighted to see a great deal on this set. Although its made of plastic, they're well made, great grips and feel sturdy. I also like how it has the 3/4 cup and odd set measures unlike standard sets which only have 1 cup, 1/2 cup, 1/3 and 1/4 cups. Same goes for the spoons. The only minor complaint I have are the rings that hold the cups and spoons together. You really need to take them all off the ring to use them due to the odd shape of the ring which makes it awkward to use while they're all still strung together. Customer Rating: Summary: Ok Set Comment: For the price, these are okay. I was looking for a cheap set to leave at my boyfriend's apartment. For those purposes, they are good enough. However, I wouldn't recommend them for everyday cooking. They aren't very thick plastic and they stain. The sizes are nice and having so many measuring tools is helpful. Customer Rating: Summary: A good buy Comment: This measuring set is a good buy! The handles each have a nonslip rubber coating, which makes this set useful in the kitchen. Everything fits together nicely with a little plastic ring. The only thing to consider is that the set tends to be a little taller instead of wider, so when you put all the cups together they may be too tall for a smaller drawer. Choosing Appliance -> Plastic wrap An absolute must with a million and a half uses. But do not buy just any plastic wrap. Go to a restaurant supply store and buy a large roll of restaurant plastic wrap. It sticks much better than the common grocery store plastic wrap and is much cheaper per foot. Choosing Appliance -> Fridge / Freezers A large number of freezers have eliminated defrosting by continually circulating the air inside the freezer compartment, thus avoiding frost build-up -- a feature well worth paying a little extra for. Kitchen tips -> Parsley To obtain more flavor from parsley, remove the stems and only use the leaves. Use a scissors to cut the leaves into pieces instead of chopping with a knife. Chopping generally causes the leaves to become mushy |
