Customer Rating:  Summary: Nifty, small and accurate kitchen scale Comment: I have a small kitchen so I can't afford kitchen items that are seldom used but take up space. Recently I got some cookbooks from the UK and they have quite a few measurements by weight, making a scale necessary. This scale was inexpensive, had good reviews, and seemed like a low risk purchase. In fact, I am very pleased. It's lightweight, easily stored on a high shelf, and accurate enough for normal cooking and baking purposes. (Probably not enough for weighing out grams of saffron or the like.) The scales also take up very little storage space as when not in use, the jug will sit upside down on the scales, to serve as a cover. More Reviews Useful for measuring fluid or dry ingredients, this anolog scale has a maximum capacity of 5 pounds or 2.2 kilograms of ingredients in precise 1-ounce or 25-gram increments. The scale comes with a large plastic mixing jug with high sides for stirring batters or ingredients, measuring in the same container, and pouring into a baking dish via the convenient spout. The interior sides of the calibrated jug are marked with measurements in cups, liters, pints, and fluid ounces so the jug can also be used as a measuring cup. The jug is microwave-safe for melting butter or warming milk and dishwasher-safe for easier cleaning. An add and weigh function lets cooks continue to add ingredients while the bowl is on a scale and the scale still produces accurate results. Cooks can even weigh ingredients individually without removing any items from the bowl by simply resetting the dial to zero and placing new ingredients in the bowl.
