Cheaper models tend to break, especially when used incorrectly but this one can take a licking and keep on pulling. No problems with wax corks either. Comment: Previously, I had only used the standard manual inexpensive type corkscrew that I received in giftbags at conventions. They got the job done, but required a lot of twisting/pulling and often deposited bits of cork in the wine. I debated purchasing this item for a long time because I was put off by the expense. After all, the money I saved by using the cheap corkscrew, could be used to buy more wine. Finally, I decided to get it , and I'm glad I did. No more twisting/turning! Bottles are opened quickly and no more bits of cork. Although the item description indicated that the box included a metal stopper, it did not. However, I called the company and received a metal stopper a few days later. I highly recommend this item!
