Have you ever tried to make coffee first thing in the morning and realized you had no coffee filters? It can start your whole day off on a sour note. And at about $4 for a hundred of them, this pays for itself in just a few months. Have had it for a couple months now. Rinse it, no problem. Dishwasher, no problem. Handle is actually helpful when waking up and half asleep...just aim it toward front of coffee maker when reloading it. I have a Cuisinart Grind and Brew and occasionally the grinds end up in my coffee because the basket is more shallow than paper filters. I do like that it's "green". 1/4th of an inch taller would be better for this machine. I am actual a bit of a coffee snob - but I don't really care to spend the time doing a french press every morning (and I like having a thermal carafe in my coffee maker that keeps it hot for 4+ hours on the weekends). Haven't had much trouble cleaning it but it does put more grounds down the drain than I would like because they kind of stick to the filter.
