Customer Rating:  Summary: Best Pepper Mill in the world! Comment: The Atlas Pepper Mill is the best one in the world. I had bought one in an antique shop for $5 and had been looking for another since. You can easily adjust the grind from coarse to fine and I can grind lots of pepper even with arthritic hands. This is the only pepper grinder I would buy. Customer Rating: Summary: Awesome Mill Comment: I bought this pepper mill as a present for my husband, who is a pepper fiend. I wanted something that was going to last a long time and adjust from coarse to fine grinding. I'm very impressed with this mill. Not only is it easy to grind (no elbow grease required) but it also looks fantastic. I purchased the salt mill to go with it and am very happy with both. The only annoying thing is that the domed cap (under the grinder handle) can move up and down freely about 1/4 to 1/2 inch for no apparent reason. Nonetheless, we like them. Choosing Appliance -> Whip / Whisk Many still consider a whip as a "gourmet" piece of kitchen equipment. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is as essential as a kitchen stove and should be in everyone's kitchen. Nothing works better for mixing a multitude of different preparations or for making sauces or gravy. Buy a solid stainless steel whip with moderately stiff wires. Very thin wires are for mixing delicate things like egg whites or whipped cream. Very thick, solid wires are for mixing stiff dough. Choosing Appliance -> Hobs If you enjoy eastern cuisine, you can buy a speciality hob with a wok burner. Similarly if you are a BBQ fan, choose a BBQ grill. If you are left handed, go for front rather than right hand side controls as this eliminates the risk of reaching across the heat. If you cook for a large family, more than four rings may be useful, and if you have young children it may be worth considering paying a little extra for a hob guard or in the case of gas, choosing an automatic re-ignition or cut off device should the flame blow out.
