Customer Rating:   Summary: Itty Bitty Lite Comment: This is the third book light I have purchased for my wife. I bought it for my wife because its LED lights should have longer battery life than the old incandescent lights. We haven't had it long enough to determine if the battery life is longer or not. What we do notice, the light is a better quality light than the old one. The Itty Bitty Lite illuminates hardbound books quite well but doesn't disturb me while sleeping. Using this light with rechargeable lights eliminates the need for adapters and that dangling cord. My wife likes it much better than the old one and has relegated the old one to the bottom shelf of her night stand. It seems sad to replace the perfectly working old light but the new one just works too well. Customer Rating: Summary: Returned Zelco light 3 times-still bad Comment: I bought the LED light and AC adapter in October of 2005. In June of 2006 I returned it because one of the two LEDs went out. Amazon warranty is only good for 30 days. Sent it to Zelco and they replaced it. A few months later the same thing happened and I again sent it to Zelco for replacement-they did. Then again! Just the other evening the "10 year" LED failed once more. Four times in two years! I give up. The reason I bought it in the first place was so I don't have to constantly change bulbs in the incandescent version. If you purchase this light be sure to save your receipt and set aside some postage! Customer Rating: Summary: Lasted only months, not years Comment: I bought this book light in February 2006 and immediately liked it. Unfortunately, the light died after just 3 months. I contacted Zelco, sent in my dead book light, and received a replacement. The second one lasted 7 months, then it gave up the ghost, too. So much for the promise of 100,000 hours of use! I do NOT recommend this book light. Customer Rating: Summary: LED's aren't supposed to burn out... Comment: I have had my book light for about a week, and one of my bulbs flickered and went out. It worked the next time I turned it on, but I fear it isn't going to be long before it goes out all together. Also, the warranty doesn't cover LEDs. Other than that, the light seems perfect. Customer Rating: Summary: Terrible product Comment: Having owned and loved the original itty bitty book light I purchased this model with the adapter with no hesitation. What a disappointment. The first one arrived and I had to send it back immediately as it just plain did not work. The second one arrived and worked fine for a couple of months and now the light flickers constantly. Choosing Appliance -> Plastic wrap An absolute must with a million and a half uses. But do not buy just any plastic wrap. Go to a restaurant supply store and buy a large roll of restaurant plastic wrap. It sticks much better than the common grocery store plastic wrap and is much cheaper per foot. Choosing Appliance -> Spoons Buy stainless spoons (both slotted and non-slotted) which are solid and won't bend no matter how tough the job. Also, buy several high quality wooden spoons for stirring delicate dishes like risotto (the sharp edge of a metal spoon would cut or bruise the rice). Zelco "itty bitty" Book Light, LED Edition
Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Cleaning & Maintenance Oven Never use a scouring pad of any sort to remove stubborn stains or soiled areas, since these pads scratch the finish and any future soiled areas won't clean up as well, especially with the self-cleaning models. When the oven is cool to the touch, place a cloth or sponge, dampened with warm to hot tap water, onto the soiled area and allow it to sit, for about ten minutes or so, to help loosen the soil. |
