Customer Rating:  Summary: Classic Alfi Carafe Comment: Alfi makes carafes to love. This one is the right price and the right size for me. It holds 8 cups of coffee and is easy to use. I have trouble using most thermos style lids, but this twist lid is easy to use and comes apart for cleaning. All parts can be replaced including the glass liner and cap; just call Alfi or check out their site. Anyway, I do not work for Alfi and I rarely take the time to write a review before Amazon prompts me with an email. But this is a good deal for a great carafe. The color is misrepresented on this page, it is a much prettier green, but more importantly my Alfi carafe brightens my morning. More Reviews 
Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice. Choosing Appliance -> Hobs If you enjoy eastern cuisine, you can buy a speciality hob with a wok burner. Similarly if you are a BBQ fan, choose a BBQ grill. If you are left handed, go for front rather than right hand side controls as this eliminates the risk of reaching across the heat. If you cook for a large family, more than four rings may be useful, and if you have young children it may be worth considering paying a little extra for a hob guard or in the case of gas, choosing an automatic re-ignition or cut off device should the flame blow out.
