Customer Reviews of Alfi Avanti 80-Ounce Carafe, Light Yellow/Ice Blue
Customer Rating: Summary: Broken! Comment: I've owned Alfi Avanti thermal carafes before and this one is NOT the usual good quality. It shipped on October 1, 2008, the window for return was November 8, 2008, and it is broken and no longer usable on November 20, 2008. The top will no longer unscrew from the carafe and the blue part is broken off and cannot be reattached. $36.00 down the drain. I'm disappointed that Amazon doesn't have a return policy for defective merchandise because this one is clearly defective. More Reviews This Alfi Avanti carafe is a frosted yellow / ice blue carafe constructed with high quality polypropylene. The "easy" one-hand operation makes this item an obvious choice. Equipped with Alfi's double-walled vacuum glass liner which keeps liquids hot or cold for up to 12 hours. Features alfiDur vacuum hardglass liner, high quality polypropylene "frosted" surface and screw stopper. The twin-walled alfiDur thoughened hardglass liner creates a vacuum between the walls, allowing neither heat nor cold to escape. 100 percent performance tested. Cleaning and Care: Hand wash with warm soapy water. Choosing Appliance -> Dishwasher Choose a dishwasher with sturdy compression springs in the door. Also look for tough, lightweight nylon or graphite racks with cushioned tips that protect glassware and cookware. Weimer recommends choosing a model with a rack design that provides the largest, most flexible interior space and is configured for your belongings, including odd-shaped pieces. Choosing Appliance -> Ladles Look for ladles that are made of one piece of stainless steel rather than a handle and dome which are spot welded together. With use, spot welded ladles tend to come apart. Buy several differnet sizes. Alfi Avanti 80-Ounce Carafe, Light Yellow/Ice Blue Useful info -> Kitchen Tips The optimum location for the cook top is along an exterior wall, rather than on an island or peninsula. With a stove on an outside wall, it's easy to install an effective hood and ventilation system, essential to expel grease, smoke and combustion gases. The stove or cook top needs a 21- to 30-inch overhead clearance so cooks can readily see and access rear burners and the ventilation system can do its work efficiently. |
