Comment: save yourself a headache and believe the posters that gave this product one star...exactly a year later, I am buy another toaster oven. it just stopped working... Customer Rating: Summary: A good product Comment: I recently purchased this toaster oven. It works very well and I'm extremely happy with it. One item that I do not like is the constant bright display of zeros. I have to unplug it to cancel the display - a nuisance. Other than that, it's worth the price. New technology and function (e.g. timer, digital display, warmer section, removable crumb tray, etc.) make this a great product. If it lasts as long as the Toast'R Oven, I will consider it a great purchase. Note, this is not a convection oven. Customer Rating: Summary: Great toaster oven- I'm a fanatic about this appliance Comment: Let me just say it right out- I'm a fanatic about toaster ovens. Since I'm single I use one all the time so when mine went out after years I wanted to thoroughly research the next one. After weeks of online reviews I went out to look for the two highest rated 1) Krups 2) T-Fal Elite. Looked at many in person but very few looked well made. I didn't want convection heating and wanted a well constructed appliance. I've found it with the T-Fal Elite Toaster Oven. It's elegantly made and heats well. Love the digital timer and auto shut off (which was mandatory). Spacewise it takes up a little more room but it earns it's keep. Trust the heat. It may not look like it's cooking but it is. Choosing Appliance -> Cooking Pans This is another area where spending money is justified. The best pans combine different metals like aluminum or copper on the outside and stainless steel on the inside. Aluminum and copper are valued for their ability to spread heat evenly over the entire pan, and stainless steel is valued for its non-reactive qualities. Buy pans which are heavy and thick with solid handles that are well fastened to the pot. As with knives, buy the highest quality cooking pans you can afford one at a time, starting with a saute pan and a 3 qt. sauce pan. They will last forever. At some point, a stock pot (which will be especially pricey) should be considered for serious cooking. Choosing Appliance -> Taps If you want a sink with large bowl dimensions to cope with big-pan washing-up, it is worth considering a tap with a pull-out or pull-down spray rinse.
