Customer Reviews of KitchenArt Pro 1 Cup Adjust-A-Cup, Champagne Satin Finish

Summary: Perfect for honey
Comment: Alton is a something of a hero to me, but I was using a version of this long before there was a food network or the internet. I ordered my first one of this type from a printed version of The Bakers Catalog (King Arthur Flour Company).

I can't imagine using anything else to measure honey or other sticky ingredients. I also like it for thicker items like pumpkin or squash purees - the clear cylinder means you can make sure you don't have air pockets and getting the product out is a snap. I also like it for measuring yogurt. I don't use much shortening or solid butter, but this would be great for that too.

Beside how it preforms, I do like the fact that it's easy to clean and it gets a work out in my kitchen!

While the max measure is one cup, I don't care for the stability of the item for anything over 3/4 cup, but I don't count that against the item too much. I think it just means I'll have to buy the larger volume version too!

Summary: If it's good enough for Alton...
Comment: I bought this after watching Alton Brown use a similar model on "Good Eats." Like him, I use it for sticky ingredients like honey, molasses or large quantities of mustard; the plunging action maximizes the amount that makes it into your mixing bowl or pan.

It's easy to disassemble and clean, and doesn't take up too much space in the cupboard.

More Reviews The Adjust-a-Cup adjustable measuring cup replaces 6 conventional measuring cups. It's sleeve easily slides and seals for use with both liquid and dry ingredients. It's great for measuring sticky ingredients like shortening, honey, or peanut butter. Simply raise the sleeve to the desired level, fill with the ingredient, and then push the base up to slide the ingredient out.
Graduated in cups and millilitres for dry ingredients and pints, cups, fluid ounces, and millilitres for liquid ingredients.
1 cup/250 millilitre capacity.
Constructed of durable metal with a champagne satin finish and polymer. Dishwasher safe.

Choosing Appliance -> Taps
If you want a sink with large bowl dimensions to cope with big-pan washing-up, it is worth considering a tap with a pull-out or pull-down spray rinse. This gives you water anywhere you need it around the bowl area.
Choosing Appliance -> Ladles
Look for ladles that are made of one piece of stainless steel rather than a handle and dome which are spot welded together. With use, spot welded ladles tend to come apart. Buy several differnet sizes.

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Stainless Steel Maintenance
Wipe away any acid spills such as from vinegar or grapefruit straight away. Never clean the bowl or draining board with an abrasive cleaner. Instead use liquid detergent in warm water and wipe with a soft cloth to remove water drop marks. Care for stainless steel appliance fascias and cabinet fronts in the same way. If choosing stainless steel cabinets, a 'brushed' surface is less likely to show grease from finger marks.
